This story has to be positively one of the most haunting depictions of post-Third Impact insanity, I whole-heartedly suggest you read it if you want to see a really really grim ending that is something right out of the Lovecraft.

The survivors of Third Impact have gradually returned from the goop of Instrumentality and rebuilt society. A military doctor interviews the surviving Eva pilots and the ones who knew them. Everyone is crazy. Really damn good.

I wish people would stop writing good fan fiction that I have to read all in one sitting even though it is already midnight. Screw going out at night, someone just wrote something interesting.

^ This. Ooh, and when you're IMing your friend, and you say you're about to go to bed, and she replies "Oh, you have to take a quick look at this (insert some URL here) first", and you go and look, and it is one of said fanfics...

Seriously, is that a depressing ending that Lovecraft would be proud of, or what. And Kensuke's obsessive madness? And the mecha cult? Creepy as hell.
