however, I do try to keep tabs on nearly all the major sports, including the NHL
to be honest, since my Dallas Stars sucked this year because Morrow got hurt and Avery was such MASSIVE FAIL, I haven't paid too much attention to the Stanley Cup playoffs this year as I did last year

I was so drunk last night, I don't even remember what I posted. But Lemieux and Jagr got the cup in 91/92. Then Mario got cancer and played for 10 something years while undergoing chemo and back problems. The blowup happened when the management threw all the money they didn't have on star players (all the teams did this back then), putting the team in debt. Mario then bought the team and restructured. Then there was the lockout, which put a salary cap on the teams (they've been able to get around like Detroit signing a 29 year old Zetterberg to a 12 year contract and padding it heavy at the start). Then the deal with the arena, which was the state jerking off the local government to prevent the arena from being built so Mario had to bluff moving the team.
