That actually wouldn't be so bad.

Hmm.....

Which would be worse, a bastardization of the normal story, or a bastardization of the goofy alternate reality? I would actually prefer to see the alternate reality get maimed than the normal one. I think it would actually be less painful that way.

But I seriously doubt that they're going to anything like that.

Oh god, Swordsman... you've scared me with this topic twice in one day. What is it with you...

Anyhow, when putting that thought thru my brain, I guess I'd rather see them make a mockery of the AU skit, then actually attempt to cram meaning into a movie based on the series.

I mean, based on the GoS 2 manga thus far, which is also based on that AU skit, we know there will be angels and reason for the kids to pilot.

So the Live Action can go either way right now.

However, I doubt they'd go and base a whole movie on one episode that the fans didn't really like.
We'll see whachu' got.

I agree, I'd rather see the alternate universe get flailed. Who knows they might seeing it would be more n00b friendly and probably not as depressing and psychological as the other. But, who knows it still might be a decent movie?

A alternate universe 1st movie might not be that bad, in that it would let us know just how much "liberties" they are planning to take in their approach.

If that idea were ever proposed (the idea of makin a film based on the alternate reality), I'm sure that before it ever came into fruition, it would have snowballed into a full-on spoof of the anime, or maybe all anime. Making a film of the alternate reality inside the story would probably garner even less interest than one based on the actual story. What, thirty people would get all the jokes? Instead of being a disaster, it would be a total disaster. Either that or it would turn into some completely out-of-the-way storyline like "Iron Maiden". That might actually be interesting. But it's not going to happen.

What wouldn't surprise me is if this ends up actually being a sequel. Think of how much of a mind-trip the original was when it came to matters of reality and subjectiveness. Do you smell what I smell?...

_you can't do anything, so don't even try
_get some help
_don't do what sonic does

hmmm.

Bastardization aside, I think the movie would have much more appeal if done in the actual Eva storyline.

the Alternate reality seems more like something that could be done as like...a student film.

 Hey.

Now I've got a story for my student film next semester! :D
