I'm kind of disappointed that this had to come to an end, but once again Desslock impresses me. If AN (or anime in general) became a religion, I nominate Desslock (Greg) for pope. Or at least Sainthood.

Nah, I'm too evil for all that. The Devil just upped my retainer, so I'll remain his faithful Advocate.

For shame Desslock you ruined the career of the next Alan Smithee!

It will die in a couple of days and sink into obscurity.

Oh and thanks for that topless shot Shinji, really, thanks dude.

...
I'm the strobelight guy. Funny what happens when you look yourself up on the Internet, huh?

Personally, I don't mind if he's using the song I sent him (if ever that movie ever goes underway). If ever, I'd just like to be on the credits or something.

It's kind of outdated anyway and I've got newer music to focus my energies on.

Haro! wrote:Can he top the pic? I'm kind of curious how he out does himself next.
Reeked of sexy, didn't it?

Haro! wrote:Oh I meant the Freeplaymusic.com thing he mentioned. Not to mention the possibility he's probably conning the guy into giving him music. Or trying to get us to believe him. If it is the latter, he sure must spend alot of time coming up with ways to keep this thing going.
That was a real conversation. I was curious about that EVA project because I used to attempt to program video games and film movies and my ambitions would get way ahead of what I was capable of doing. Hence, I'd eat my hat if he could pull off something as large scale as he'd envisioned.

He asked me to do some music for the trailer. I agreed to do it if he could show me a trailer (or some results). I never got a follow-up though. =/

Oh yeah, I still think any adaptation of EVA needs Misato fanservice, live-action or otherwise. Image

Looked pretty epic to me too. I just scrolled through it and damn. He never told me his project was shut down by ADV. Guess I can stop waiting for that footage now.

As for me, I'm getting ready to hit the studio for an instrumental progressive metal demo. Mostly for potential singers to reference vocal parts to. It's overrated.

Yeah, you'd think. But there's always that one guy...

Helvetica, damn it, boy, couldn't you have waited a few days, then popped one year from the last post, like the ghost of Evangelion terrors past?

It appears that he's moved his copyright infringment on to other projects, like a Live Action Pokemon:

You know, I couldn't have made that up if I'd tried. Image

Really wish I knew what the point of a live action pokemon short would be.

Why do I feel McDonalds will be the career of choice for young Shinji?

It seems like every forum he's promoted his fan project on has turned him into a whipping boy. I didn't know people from Animenation would take those kinda measures though - honestly, how likely was it that anything would have come out of a limited budget and an oversized ambition?

Personally I thought calling ADV was kind of harsh on Desslock's part, but going over his reasoning I guess he did what he had to do for what most people knew was an ill-fated project. Then again, he was just a high school kid with an unrealistic proposal.

Talking to him, he seemed pretty serious about making the movie. I can relate - I had oversized ambitions kinda like his in middle school and high school and talked about them as if they were gonna be pro-quality. Having that kind of experience, I wouldn't be so hasty to call it a hoax if it was one.

Just an outsider's $0.02. Cheers.

Hell yeah.
If by 'project' you mean him asking for money to make his movie, then yeah, his 'project' was shut down by ADV.

Yeah, but when I was a kid I always liked it when Christmas came early. Image

I'm guessing that means donations.

I'm too lazy to read the whole epic thread in detail, so I don't exactly know what you mean. Was he soliciting people to donate money for the movie?
