It's already implied that Gendo's fucking Rei. I mean, private tests? The fact that she contains a lot of Yui's genetic material? Come on, people. If he is, that would make him a pedo, and considering Asuka is generally portrayed as more sexual than Rei... yeah, you can see where I'm going with this.
Ritsuko/Shinji
This one's not really batshit crazy, but it's certainly unexplored territory to my knowledge, and it does imply (at least) that Ritsuko is a pedo, so I can see why people would be weary about using it.
Jet Alone/EVA-02
This one's firmly in Rule 34 territory. I really don't want to think about the physics of it, or whether either robot even has sex organs.

I read a fanfic to that angle once. Funny thing is Asuka was the one pushing things to try and get more control over her situation, driving Gendo up the damn wall as he tries to ignore or otherwise deal with her and continue to deny he wants some of that. Abandoned before she succeded in getting her lolita on and that's probably a good thing, but it was definately... interesting?

I'm keeping up with a fic at the moment called 'Remember Me' with a divergent storyline that also bluntly says Shinji -did- get down to buisness with Misato earlier, who is essentially the jealous ex at this point. Oh, btw gendo, Rei, and Asuka all left the stage in this universe's version of 3I, which didn't actually go down.
