Ayanami Raising Project was originally for Windows and Dreamcast. Then a few years back it was released with an Asuka addition for PS2, and NOW this is the DS version of the PS2 release.

Hope that helps. ^^;

I wonder why they don't make a seriously awesome looking game about EVA that actually focuses in the main story, and not in a weird alternate universe. I mean, a fighting game or something like that, instead of those dating simulators.

And of course they'd have to release such a game outside Japan.

I took a look at teh Wiki and Eva 2 seems to be a really interesting game. But it wasn't released outside Japan, was it?

No, none of the Eva games have been released outside of Japan. It's a shame too because I think they're be a market for them since there's markets for all these other anime video games.

Fixed.
Sorry, but Eva2 rapes the canon so hard on some accounts, it falls into the "weird alternate universe" list IMO.

With the exception of some slight AU Scenario (Kaworu, Shinji's 3rd scenario) the actual gameplay doesn't, no. If you're talking about the CI files, then that's another issue altogether.

Anyway back on topic (Unless somebody wants the above to be a split): Does anybody whp has the DS version of this game also have the PS2 version? I'm curious about what differences there are if any. For instance, does San'i (caretaker of Asuka and Rei) actually talk or are his lines just silent like in the PS2 version again?

I read somewhere ( forgot where ), that in some versions of the game, San'i does actually speak.

I believe it was DC and PC ? I'm only guessing though...

I've seen clips of the DC or Windows version and he speaks in that. Where he doesn't speak is the PS2 version. If you read it here http://evageeks.org/FGP/Ayanami_Raising_Project , I added that information.

I've pretty much figured out the game. Got 3 endings with Rei(teacher, fast food waitress and beach volley ball player), 2 included us getting married. Only thing I can't figure out is how to fight Sandalphon early so she can go on her class trip to the beach.

The game looks fun, I should import it soon along with Puchi Eva and Slot Kouryaku Series.

I have to get this game. I don't even own any game systems and I have to get it. The only problem will be hiding it from my friends and family. I wonder what sort of affect it would have in game if I played drill instructor and just hazed Rei and made her march around. Being able to talk shit to her would be the best:

"Ayanami, YOU FIGHT ANGELS LIKE OLD PEOPLE FUCK!"

The Shinji raising one sounds cool too:

"Ikari you have fifteen seconds- Fifteen fucking seconds- to get your sorry ass inside that Eva, OR I'M GONNA GOUGE OUT YOUR EYEBALLS AND SKULL-FUCK YOU!"

That'll put some fire in his belly.

Sorry about the direct linking. I can barely make this forum work, let alone other computer stuff.

But anyway, I'm really curious about this game. How hard is it to find for PS2? Will it work on an American console? I'm assuming it's in Japanese, so will that make it harder to play (I don't speak their lingo)? Will playing it speed up my descent into insanity? What kind of options do you have when interacting with Rei (I was serious about playing as her DI for at least my first go)?

I "have" the game on my computer (DC version >_>), I just finished a play through today. I got the ending with Rei being a teacher (Assuming, I can't read Japanese >_>). I'm also interested if anyone has a walkthrough or a translated script for the game. =]

The only walkthrough I was able to find was this one, which is only for the demo of the computer version.

I just started playing the DS version; interestingly, when you enter your name, you do it by actually writing the kana with the stylus. Unfortunately, this took a while for me as it doesn't register properly if you don't enter the strokes from the right directions and in the right order. -_-

There's 2 walkthroughs in terms of Stats/store information for the PS2 port (the version I have) on GameFAQs... It's not much, but it's something where it translates what's being said in Japanese in regards to the items you can get and such.
