Other then Shinji's extra line " bull shit " in volume one, im not sure their are any other changes in the series. I figured im just glancing over the diffrences.

Please list any note worthy additions or deletions you seen so far in the platinum release of eva.

I haven't really gone over and compared the subtitle tracks between the original and platinum DVDs, but I believe they revised them a bit. Also, the ending previews are different.

In episode 1, Eva Unit 01's eyes shut off when Shinji refuses to pilot the Eva, and then turn back on just before he decides to pilot it.

In episode 2, Misato's line of "brain damage" has been changed to "contamination", which is a proper translation.

That's all I can think of at the moment. There aren't a great deal of differences in Renewal/Platinum. I think there was only one new line of dialogue from any of the original cast members in the Japanese, and I believe it was Megumi Hayashibara. What line I don't know off the top of my head. Aside from that, there are a few new BG lines in there, but nothing major in terms of audio.

You'll also notice that Misato now drinks only Ebisu brand beer. Originally, in the television broadcast, they had a fictional brand "Boa", for the video release, they changed it to the real brand "Ebisu". In ADV's release, they used a mixture of TV Masters and video release versions for their masters, hence why Misato switches from one to the other during the original release.

Monkey, you're supposed to use this opportunity to promote the Commentary.

I'm not keeping track of dub or sub changes (the former for the reason that when I listen to dubs, I can hear my neurons screaming as they die off, one by one), but changes to video and music are being kept track of here. Only the first three episodes so far, but just give us some time, we'll get them all...

Renewal's additional dialogue is directly incorporated into the scripts used for the commentary, and designated by a dark aqua color. (See link in sig.) Supplemental dialogue present in the OA (on-air) version is colored blue.

Im not going to touch the dub crack Reichu

Another related question that came to me just now.

Did any of this aditional material come from anno ?

How about the directors cuts? Do we have any proof that Anno worked on the DC's ?

Some Renewal booklet says:

Some of the additional recorded dialogue is material that was intentionally left off the 2.0 stereo recording, even though Director Anno originally planned for it when the show was being produced...

That's about the most I've heard regarding the issue. Presumably he had a hand in anything that's been newly-scripted.

You'd probably appreciate this:

MDWigs (On Everything.com)
The 26 episodes of Neon Genesis Evangelion were first aired on Japanese TV in 1995-1996. When they were screened the first time on TV the episodes had to be slightly altered to remove some actual brand names and "sexual content" (it was screened after the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles after all). Gainax also wanted to have 30-second previews of each episode, but had to shorten them to 15-second ones.
The Japanese videos of the series were then released one after another. Each video or Laser Disc contained 2 episodes and was named "Neon Genesis Evangelion - Genesis 0:01, Genesis 0:02, Genesis 0:03, etc...". These videos featured the Evangelion Episodes the way they were supposed to be in the first place, i.e. they had 30-second previews, actual brand names, added "sexual content" etc...

However Anno Hideaki decided to slightly improve the quality of episodes 21 to 24 as well as adding new scenes. He also decided to remake entirely episodes 25 and 26 for this video release (he thought that he "owed" this to the Gainax staff, since he took complete control of the last two TV episodes).

So the video release came to a stop with "Genesis 0:10", which contained Episodes 19 and 20, because they had to work on redoing episodes 21 to 24 to get them ready for video release, they also has to work on the movies! Hideaki Anno's idea to redo the last two episodes eventually spawned "Evangelion: Death and Rebirth", "The End of Evangelion" and finally "Revival of Evangelion".

Now at this point (when the Japanese Video Releases stopped), AD Vision bought the rights to English Dub and release the TV series. They released episodes 1 to 20 of the Japanese Video Version but they didn't want to wait until the completion of the Redone Evangelion Episodes 21 to 24 by Gainax, so they released the TV Version of episodes 21 to 26.

This is where the problem lies. The Redone Evangelion Episodes are available on LD, VHS and DVD in Japan but are unavailable in other parts of the world. Most English speaking people have seen the ADV dub of Evangelion. They have seen "outdated" versions of Episodes 21 to 24 and thus when they hear about these extra scenes they instinctively think that they were cut from the versions that have seen. This is not the case. These extra scenes had not even been made when AD Vision bought and released its tapes. Don't blame Gainax because you are missing out on about 15 minutes of extra Eva goodness, blame AD Vision for not having any patience.

Now over in Japan Gainax finally released "Genesis 0.11" and "Genesis 0.12". They contained the redone episodes 21 to 24, improved and with added scenes. Some of these added scenes were featured in "Evangelion: Death and Rebirth" so if you can't get a copy of the redone episodes, try and get a copy of Evangelion: Death. The added scenes are worth seeing, they provides a lot of information you otherwise wouldn't find out.

There is a huge correlation between the added DC material and EoE; basically, the DC scenes are there to "set up" story elements in EoE that otherwise would tend not to make much sense (e.g. the "Asuka hates Shinji's guts" stuff that comes to a head in the Complementation sequence... )
For that reason, I find the suggestion that Anno might not have been involved in the DC to be rather strange; we know he wrote EoE, and the added DC scenes were obviously written in conjunction with D&R and EoE. It was all one connected project...
