Has anyone checked this out yet? It's a GAINAX title currently airing in Japan that I was reading about in Newtype (hey, I like big pretty pictures) It compares it to Eva in that the hero reflects the creator (though it mentions the main character to be a projection of two different people in the case of MoB).

I just found the torrent and am downloading it now, though it takes a hellish amount of time to do on my lowly 56k

I watched some of Melody of Oblivion. I was not impressed.

It is Gainax, so I will finish it. Eventually.

Gee wiz, thanks :( *bats*
...tell me how it is though

On average I get about 2-3k on BitTorrent. It also makes the internet unusable so I just leave it on while doing other things.

Edit: Ah, were you expecting something more or it just wasn't up to your standards?

Downloaded and saw the first episode.. I didn't like it too much. I'm not very fond of the art and characters (which make it feel like a dating sim), and the story is sort of typical and uninteresting. Of course this is judging the entire show by just one epidsode, but the first should have something that would make me want to see the rest.

Oh vell

Melody of Oblivion gets better and better as it goes along.

Pros:
+ it's from the writer of FLCL, Yoji Enokido
+ lotsa symbolism gives the story depth
+ great music

Cons:
- cheap production values
- some of the enemies (like the bull bus in episode 1) don't quite work

you can limit the amount you upload to other people-- use the official bittorrent app for mac or shadow torrent (or something-- there's a bunch of others as well) for windows.
