They're moving into the action market now, huh?

Well, the art looks okay.

It looks...interesting.

So the Angels were first re-imagined as scantily-clad teenage girls, and now they're leather-wearing bishounen? Oh well, at least it's some eye candy for the ladies.

Looks very cool, definately something that will be taking my money when ADV Manga (or whoever) decide to release it over here!

There's a pretty suggestive picture of Kaworu and Shinji in the first image there - so I'm guessing this isn't exactly going to fit into the shoenen category.

Also, all the characters look a little older, no?

I was wondering where those pictures were coming from as I have been seeing those images around for a week or so. Just another glorified dojin to get people to spend money on.

No, it doesn't. To me it looks more like the art style they used in FLCL than it does Eva.

I said it on EML and I'll say it here: This seriously makes me think of Eva meets the Matrix, though I can't recall/haven't watched all of the latter... ^_^;

Asuka is a shoujo magazine, isn't it?

I think so.

It IS what the GoS2 Manga ran in, and that had a Shoujo-flavor IMO.

I'm gonna regret saying this, but... I actually like the look of this.

What can I say? I've waited ages to see Shinji actually hold a gun.

What's it called?

Kaworu/Asuka - give it a chance!
(Clarification - I still like Asuka/Shinji)

As in translated. I don't know much in the way of Japanese.

And yes, he does look a bit like that. Do you think there are any correlations there?

Now that you mention it - yeah, there is a resemblance there! I loved Near from Death Note ^_^ Oh ... and, yeah, Evangelion manga and .. stuff, also.

So, Asuka only does shoujo series, then?

Asuka did X/1999, which was heavy on the shounen-ai subtext (CLAMP, what do you expect), but not remotely what I'd call shoujo. They also featured DNAngel, which was heavy on the shounen-ai subtext, and pretty much exactly what I'd call shoujo.

It's a strange kinda thing to categorise. Take Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicles, for example; that runs in a shounen magazine, and CLAMP have shouted to the heavens that THIS IS SHOUNEEEEN. I'm fairly certain, however, that there isn't a single young male reading it for the asskicking exploits of young Syaoran's attempts to protect Princess Sakura from fates X Y and Z, and the entire readership is comprised of teenage fangirls wetting themselves over how close to canon yaoi the Kurogane/Fai relationship is going to come.

But I have to say that this looks fuckin fun. I have resigned myself to the gravy train and I am pouring meatjuice down the funnel like a good little gainax whore.
