The girl in EM's post looks cool. I hope she's either a SEELE spy or Misato's sister. Either two of those would be pretty awesome. She is talking to Asuka in that picture, though - so she could have something to do with Asuka. If she turns out to be another love interest for Shinji, I think I'll be disapointed!

I also have to say "Please God no" in regards to New Girl being Shinji's love interest.

Judging from the different uniform she's not one of the pilot candidates from Class 2-A. My guess is that she'll be an international student, not related to any of the other characters, and will be shipped along with one of the Evas.

I like the idea of her being the doomed pilot of Eva-04. (This is Eva; we know something terrible is going to happen to her, it's just a matter of what it is.) Kaworu's proof that you need only ten minutes of screentime to be a highly marketable Eva character.

She's a new pilot. Accept it. Becoming an Eva pilot is immediate financial gold for Gainax because people love them Eva pilots. Especially with underage breasts.

Also, it doesnt make anything official but that image with her headless body is showing only Eva pilots.

She's a pilot. Shinji at some point will probably interact with her in some goofy fan-service way (the dance against Israfel becomes a three person dance with Shinji hopping between two girls and letting mucho double time fan-service).


The question isn't what she adds as a pilot (I approve of her being there because a new pilot and Eva present means Part 2 can't just be more sexier animated Eva remakes, scenarios will have to be rewritten and made NEW), the question is what she adds as a character.

Proabably on the surface she'll seem like the most normal of the pilots but deep down she'll have suffered some traumatic parent based horror in her childhood.

What if this character is actually a ... happy, mentally healthy girl? It's likely that's she's moved from another country, so maybe she becomes friends with the pilots by chance and she's actually fun and stuff? I know - This is Eva: happiness is not allowed - but it's a nice thought!

4 days in Nerv and hanging out with the people there and her happiness is gone forever!

And as much as i hate this, she'll most likely be a new pilot. Gendo'sPapa' is right, the Eva cow still has a lot of milk. It's just if the specualtion becomes a fact, then there will be new scenes, new dialogues, that never existed in the first place. They have to re-write scenes and i really don't want that.

Anyway, we may all be surprised with the outcome. I just pray to God she is not the new-Mana!
