This is to discuss the merits of both shows, NOT an actuall comparison of military power(nBSg always loses those encounters, because they simpley dont have the tech to compete with the other Sci-fi universes. I'll stop now.)

NBSG has I think we can all agree, absolutely gorgeous CGI work done with it. oBSg was revolutinary for it's time in terms of Special effects, for a TV show, but it gets really repetitive looking at the same stock clip of Viper blowing away Cylon Raider.

I will at least give oBSg this: The original BattleStar model looked downright wicked, so much that they reused that look for the BattleStar Pegasus. And two: The Original Viper design was so absolutely awesome, they DID have to reuse as the Viper MK II

3...2.... 1... FIGHT!

In the old BSG, the special effects were so awesome that they constantly reused the same shots of those effects over and over! :D

Then Again, each episode costed over a mil to make.

I was mearly saying that oBSG had impressive special effects for it's era. nBSG beats the utter piss out of oBSg, as far as SFX goes. Oh, and oBSG earns my Scorn for being associalted with Galactica 1980.

I will say what I said in a previous thread.

I can't believe how long it took me to notice this, and I can't believe that it seems nobody else has noticed it until I point it out to them.

Unless I'm missing something very important, oBSG had one of the most flagrant continuity flaws in a series EVER.

The "ragtag fleet" was supposed to represent all that remained of the human race, looking for Earth so they could use it as a new home and sanctuary from the Cylons.

Yet they go to SEVERAL planets throughout the series inhabited by other humans, who seem to be at LITTLE to NO danger of the Cylons. All that remains of the human race? Not bloody possible.

And, ignoring the existence of other humans, say the reason they don't settle on any of those inhabitable planets is because the Cylons will find them. Well, in Galactica 1980 the Cylons find a defenseless Earth anyway, and they have to defend Earth as they would any of those other habitable planets, making the WHOLE THING pointless. :?

(Oh, and the makers of oBSG were sued for stealing at least four distinct ideas from Star Wars. The company that made BSG [I forget whom] countersued over other stolen concepts, and the charges were dropped.)

Yeah, I generally agree. What the fuck was the Casino planet for, anyway?
