As much as I like DBZ I'm actually not to excited for this. :(. I was hoping toonami would show something new or different.

Yup. We were spoiled this year :P. I watched all of those shows except for batman and naruto and of course Inuyasha, which starts this weekend I think? thanks for the reminder.
The thing is I had just gotten some DVDs right before Kai aired on Nick. Watched all of Kai then GT afterwards. So if I'm up I'll probably watch it, if not I won't be worried about setting it to record. Though I probably will towards the end of the frieza saga.

while awesome its a bit of a missed opportunity, they should have brought back both freeza and cooler, the antagonistic interaction between them would be awesome.

Is this film the one they were saying wouldn't be taken so seriously, or am I thinking of something that already happened?

Might check it out if general consensus is it's the usual campy fun (admit it, a lot of DBZ really is camp).

Judging from the poster Frieza has the same aura color as SS God Goku.
Perhaps Frizea also becomes a God?

I just hope Vegeta gets his revenge and goes super saiyan god in this movie. Dbz is so incosistent with their power levels though. Remeber when freiza was the strongest in the universe. Now hes probably not even in the top 10 strongest fighters. I like to see how they explain his power level spike, maybe its the wish and he wishes to be as strong as a super saiyan god.

75% of Dbz is usually talking,filler or comedy. The other 25% is the action which is dbz's best asset. I agree i would like to see a more serious take on DBZ.

hence why I liked the dbz movies more than the show mostly. Little filler and almost aways pretty serious.
BOG has the most filler and comedy of any of the Z movies so far.
Coolers revenge / return of cooler / bojack unbound I think the perfect tone for general stories.
History of trunks really showed how dark the show could get if need be.

I hope the film is really centered on comedy, and the stupid decision that is bringing Freezer back is stupid on purpose.
