It's not much, but I felt really compelled to post it here. For whoever has seen the episode, does Major Kusanagi running in shooting to save the boy from the yakuza look fairly similar to Misato running in shooting to save Shinji in EOE? I'd post screenshots, but you know. I don't have any.

But I mean her actions were pretty similar. Shooting as she runs up, then jump-kicking a guy and shooting him through the head, etc. Also, the characters both have purple hair, not that that's really significant. XD

yah, thats what I mean. I have seen a lot of anime with the EXACT same scene. Also ones with the camera watching the back and the arm swinging back and forth.

BTW, that's from the second season. And I think the similarities are just coincidence.

I always thought it was funny that Motoko and Misato have the same hair color, initials and rank, even though it's almost certainly a coincidence.

Innerestin.

I should probably pick 2nd Gig up too. Didn´t care much for it when I downloaded, but maybe if I give it another chance...

I thought it was an above average series, but my favorite characters were the tachikoma, and my favorite parts were the tachikoma short at the end of each episode during season 1.

SAC was the series I chose when introducing my grandmother to anime.

After we'd watched the first few episodes, this happened:

"What are the blue robots called again?"

"They're called tachikoma."

"I want one."

Everyone´s watchin anime with their grandparents. I don´t get why anyone´d even TRY, but it´s obviously working so kudos. Old people around here loathe anything new and/or alien =P

Motoko is always the Major -- Misato gets her promotion as we watch. But it would be amusing to consider the what-if it were Motoko who appeared in NGE.

Yes but you could get stepped on by an Eva. The results would probably be about the same.

impossible, no one EVER gets stepped on by an eva. Especially not someone badass enough to dodge it.

Major Kusanagi could most definitely take down an Eva.

Wow, there really are a lot of similarities between the two majors that I hadn't thought of.

Come to think of it, Masamune started writing GITS well before Eva came out, didn't he?
