INNER MONOLOGUE: Jesus, the PS3's in a shitload of trouble. There's just not a big enough install base for developers to seriously think about exclusives right now. God, I feel as if I could be "Dreamcasted" again! But what else am I to do? I'm not a big fan of the 360, and the Wii has some good ideas, but ultimately, it's a limited system. The PS3 has the most potential, and that makes it the best buy, right? Right. Ahah, so I must never let anyone know of my wavering faith in the PS3.

At least Blu-rays are outselling HD-DVDs by a significant margin, though that only has a marginal effect on the console wars.

You lost something because exclusive games mean more incentive to buy a console. Take Resident Evil 4 for example. Nintendo was all stoked that they got this as an exclusive because they thought it would help with their kiddy image, and maybe push a few more Gamecubes. Then Capcom goes all Benedict Arnold and announces it will be coming out for PS2 as well. Now how many people do you think went out to buy a Cube to play this game, when they could just wait and buy it for PS2?

Devil May Cry, a hit, albeit a small one. I'm still getting a PS3 as it's going to look and play better on a PS3 (I've thrown my PS2 controller down so many times it hasn't vibrated since Shadow of the Colossus. Fucking final colossus on Hard Time Attack).

I find the Xbox package after you buy everything to make it fun more expensive than the PS3. The Wii is a moot point, I found the Rayman game fun, and Twilight Princess a blast, but that's it. I suppose that would make me a hypocrite as I said in an earlier thread that people shouldn't judge off of launch titles.

As long as... Wait this is the final Metal Gear. Damn it. Armored Core 4 expansions anyone :(?

I've never bought a system just for a specific game. I do own a few Ace Combat games. I could play them over and over. Especially AC4.

I bought the original Xbox solely for the glory that was Halo. But, staying on topic now (I'm getting better at doing this, can't you tell Reichu?), I would love to see every console lose their software exclusitivity rights. The only downside to this is that's exactly what happened to the ancient Atari and its future was buried in a landfill somewhere in New Mexico.

although exclusivity is kind of a downer (i wish some of playstation's exclusive rpgs would come to xbox or gamecube) it is a hamper on the overall quality of the game when the developers have to worry about making it for 3 different systems at once.
