Following the latest update on Anno's site, I ended up with a link I've been ignoring before: Studio χαρα's journal:

http://merumaga.yahoo.co.jp/Backnumber/5923/53470/p/1

因みに、カラーとはギリシャ語で「歓喜」という意味で、χαραと表記します。英語のColorではありません。

Which I think says it's not Color, but that χαρα (or whatever romanization is appropriate), which seems to mean something as joy or delight.

Is this new maiking breakthrough material for ANN?

EDIT: subject got screwed

I’m not entirely sure what your saying but χαρα' (chi, alpha, rho, alpha) = chara (charoa?) (the c is sort of like the one in the german ‘Ich’). As for what it means…

(By the way I dont know what this Color/χαρα so yeah)

The studio that Anno put together to work on Rebuild, I assume. It was called Khara or something and it was written somewhere that it meant "Color". Apprently, they were wrong.

Yep, in ol' Gurisha-go=Greek. (Have my dictionary sitting in my lap, too.)

Well, fitting enough, considering where that word "Evangelion" came from.
