I assume that a mix of crappy quality and that strange shot of Shinji in a plugsuit with only his upper half visible (Or something to that effect) give the impression that the rest of his body is hidden by black LCL. That shot is surreal, it could be happening in his mind, or a dream, or something else. That LCL is black is the last conclusion I would draw.

Ramiel has a chunk missing? No.
Black LCL? No.

What next, I wonder?

Is everyone certain this is the whole trailer? What we see begins at a very strange place in the song.

I highly doubt this is the full trailer. The full thing is supposed to be one and a half minutes, right?

And, of course, the Youtube video starts in the middle of the song.

and thats what i said about the trailer. there is probably shots of Eva 01 in the beginning before it falls

EDIT: also.. why did they make the song in English, instead of Japanese?

Because that isn't the song; were any of the other tons of variants of it in Japanese? That would be like them doing Cruel Angel Thesis in English, just doesn't work. Humorously enough, I still find Sinatra's version to be the best.

No thanks. Banging my head against a wall is humiliating enough without it being a wall of digestive by-product.

I actually prefer this version of the song. It still fits the anime medium, but it isn't overly old or classicle (I know, bad spelling). I quite like it. Apparently, the main theme song will also be by the same artist (Utada), 'Beautiful World'. Anyone have it?

The Shinji-in-plug shot is nearly impossible to make heads or tails of. Though, for some reason, I feel like I see something dark and fluidy shortly before that.

Oh yes, of course.

But looking at the same shot, it seems that Shinji has possibly retained his SDAT. At least, it hasn't been changed for an ipod. The headphone leads are black, not white.
