I know we've got movie hype going around and another rerelease on dvd, but do you think we will ever see another series or OVA ?

I say no, as much as I'd love to be wrong my gut tells me otherwise.

 DD

No doubt about it. It may take 10 years, it may take 100, but there will be a sequel. However, It will not have Anno. All we can do is pray that someone just as good takes over.

I agree , if a sequel is to be made then we need some one good or the whole thing will be crap

Question: Do you think we will see a sequel?

Yes, we will see a sequel, and no one is going to notice it.

More like a year and a bit. If there are seven DVDs and new DVDs come out every two months, you'll have six DVDs in a year. One will be released in that "a bit" time frame... thing.

Depends if they get it right , I say 2 years for sure and about 3-4 years for the box set

:? :? :? :?

Think about it , why would they release the box set before or just after they have release the last edition , it business terms it does make sense , they want to make as much money as possible ( squeezing the market dry) out of the individual dvd's.

If they space out the individual dvd's to a 3 - 4 months gap ( which may happen , even though it has been said to be 2 months) they will make more money , plus fix unforseen problems with the dvd's.

So dont tell me i am full of shit. I am thinking this through from a business prospective. Not a consumer

:: points to Eva Monkey like a small child :: But he said it'd be out in about a year!

Anyways, on topic... yes, the potential for a sequel is there. If there really WILL be one is questionable.

The real question here is will the sequel do justice to the original

I highly doubt that they are going to make a sequel to Evangelion. Personally, I don't see what they would make a sequel of.

I think it's possible they'll do a sequel. But I think the real question is, would a sequel really be good? The Evas are gone, the angels are gone, Nerv's gone, SEELE will probably stay in the sea of LCL. What's going to drive the plot?

Sure, they could use Shinji and Asuka and how everyone rebuilds after EoE. But that wouldn't do it for me really. You take away the Evas and Angels and you don't really have Evangelion anymore :?

If I was in charge, I'd have a short OVA, like Endless Waltz. Maybe just showing a little past "I need you". Not something big, but something that doesn't leave so much of a cliffhanger. IMO, that's what would be best.

Of course, if they do make an Eva sequel, you can bet I'll still watch it :P

Same here.
Actully I'd like an Endless Waltz like thing. It would probably either show what happened to Shinji, Asuka and the rest of Humanity after TI. I would buy it definitly though.

Hm... an OAV on the events leading up to, during, and after second impact would be quite interesting in my opinion. I attempted to make a movie script based on this premise once but it wasn't very good... though my scripting skills aren't exactly very good either.

I think that the best they can do is a PRECUEL
Because the end of evangelion was THE END !!!
It would be nice to know all the story of seele, Adam, Lilith, and that Ancient civilization thing...
Dont you think?
