Help for Fanfic writers

I have been trying my hand out at writing a fanfic just for fun recently, but right now it is just on paper. I was wondering what the prefered program for putting it on the computer was i.e. Word, Word Perfect, Works, Note pad, other program or does it not even matter.

Also I am going let a little ignorance show-- What does WAFF mean, I think I know but I am not 100% sure.

I use Microsoft Word because that's the program I'm most familiar with. I'd use the program you have the most experiance with.

Well, I gues I'm ignorant as well becuase I have no idea what the means. Though, I'm pretty sure that the 'FF' stands for 'fan fiction'.

I use word perfect, I like itsSpell Checker better than words for some reason.

Warm and Fuzzy Feelings are measured in vague quantity ("plenty of WAFF"), and basically entail stuff like puppydog romance and bright flowery conclusions to whatever turmoil the characters might endure. It may permeate throughout, or just show up on occasion, usually at the end. The most frequent appearance of WAFF in Eva fics that I'm aware of usually deals with Shinji and Asuka coming closer together in some ambiguous way without all kinds of mushy talk, or Rei trying to discover her humanity and doing something really cute. You know, things that'd make a fully-grown male hetero fan squeal like a schoolgirl when he reads it... or so I've heard.

Other terms:

ACC = Author Created Character (Needs no explanation: Lynn and Aoi [Eva-R], Terrance [Gospel of Malachael], Calvin Robertson [Ascension of the Lamb], etc.)

OOC = Out Of Character (Example: Shinji and Asuka suddenly start pouring their hearts out in an author's cheap effort to rush us into romance, Rei talks like a complete robot instead of simply being detached, Gendo has sex with a dog, etc.)

There are probably some more, but I can't think of any.

Time for some darker stuff too.....

Das Ãœber Kind: An ACC that knows no limits. Possesses an "Aura of Smooth" that attracts anything of the oppisite and some times same sex to the character romanticly. In eva fiction is usually a pilot (Most likely the sixth child) and has a Sync Ratio of great proportions. Hardly ever fun to read.

SI: (Self Insert): No explanation need here.

Mary Sue: A combination of the last two. A overbearing character who can outwit Gendo, Screw anything that dosn't have a dick (Sometimes they screw anything...) has a snyc ratio of about %500 and wears all black. Yep, these suck. They need to die, and burn, painfully.

Avoid these at all costs.

Actully, DJ is more of a Das Ãœber Kind than a mary sue, he just often toes the line between the two and as far as a well rounded characters sense, hes about as round as a square for the first 20 or so chapters, but eventully he kinda of gets over it. He gets a little less annoying in the "movie" at least... (Maybe thats because he isn't IN half of it.......)

Oh, and if you want Mary Sue fics, go check out Gundam Wing Fanfics some time, they are crawling with them.

This thread suggests it was Unit 08 who pierced her eye, since this was the only Unit not 'killed' (it only received a leg amputation). I've no idea about the arm, though, the MP Evas can't be seen very clearly at that point.
