EvaGeeks.org celebrates its tenth anniversary.
Eva Geeks was launched ten years ago on October 4th, 2007, which is a pretty major milestone for any fan site or community.

Staying relevant for such a long time on the internet is hard, especially considering that forums are generally dying on the net. Happy birthday Evageeks.

It must be the power of the fandom that keeps it alive. Although, thanks to Anno, and whether you like them or dislike them, the rebuilds certainly helped keep interest in the fandom alive this long after the show's original run.
Happy birthday evageeks

Voted in college to be Most likely to Take Over the World, how to do that however, will require at least Four Evangelions. Thanks for the idea Misato-san!

Happy birthday Evageeks! Kinda amazed to learn I've been here for half of this site's existence, look forward to seeing this site bumping again as we move towards 3.0+1.0.
I mean, predictability is the central attraction and the narrative hook that we've all come to expect from the Evangelion franchise. How come Anno can't realize this? Twice? - FreakyFilmFan4ever

A good achievement for a fansite of a series over 22 years old. I wish to see the site continue its existence to the future as new content pours in.

Happy birthday, Evageeks!
Doesn't really feel like it's been a decade. Time flys I guess.

Gosh - I've been here half its life, and while not a newbie, I don't feel like part of the "old guard" either!

The true old farts here are the ones who were around before the merge. I remember the EvaMonkey forums, if only for a few months.

I find that ironic considering your profile says you're younger than me

Re: EvaGeeks.org celebrates its tenth anniversary.
I feel weird to have been a part of an online forum for most of its existence.
I almost feel a part of the "Old Guard," but really the only thing that separates me from feeling completely part of it is the fact that I wasn't around for the merge and I still scratch my head at the tales of "V." But anytime someone complains about how the forum was "more interesting" in its past, I can usually recall all of the things they list as being "more interesting" than it is today. (It mostly consists of flame wars in the film section.)

Re: EvaGeeks.org celebrates its tenth anniversary.
I was even involved with V's own forum, but only for the short period after he'd abandoned it and until the domain name died; I'd been asked to spam-proof it. I did the same for its replacement (with which he was not involved, and which has now also died).
This forum's strength and what helps keep it going is that, unlike those, it is a decent one-stop-shop for a wide range of Eva discussions, information, and views, in an environment in which people generally get along together pretty well; and because it's so stable we can actually feel sad when anyone feels the need to move on, or has to leave for any reason.

Wow! Happy 10 years, EGF!
I remember joining Evamonkey forums in those few months before the merge (and some of y'all go back even further, via the AnimeNation Forums)!
Time really flies, but here's to many more years
