They have been planning it for 4 years.
No release date AFAIK.
Apparently similar in tone to TTGL and KlK.
Key visual by Shigeto Koyama.

Get hype

Anybody else excited? This is my most anticipated anime after Eva 3+1.

(Does anybody here have an opinion on XFlag?)

This is the Trigger show I expect good things from. Now that Trigger is an established studio Imaishi & team should be able to play around and really blow things up animation wise (they found creative ways to get around budgetary issues in Kill La Kill, the first Trigger show). Should be similar in tone to Gurren Lagann & Kill La Kill so I expect it to be a fun & insane week-by-week viewing experience.

Anyone know if the other upcoming Trigger show SSSS. Gridman is a 12 or 24 episode show? I imagine Trigger wouldn't want two shows airing at the same time. If Gridman is a 12 episode show and starts in October than I imagine Promare could start airing in January like Trigger's last two big showcase shows - Little Witch Academia & Darling in the Franxx

True, Trigger's budgets have seemingly been increasing.

I suspect Gridman to be shorter since Amemiya has only directed the smaller projects Inferno Cop and Ninja Slayer till now (apart from his work on other shows), although this doesn't confirm anything.

I'd rather have Promare earlier, but it'll be how it'll be.

Would it be that strange for them to have to shows coincide?
I guess one could take attention from the other.

Imaishi's KlK and Luluco started in october and april respectively IIRC.

EDIT: A trailer is confirmed for tomorrow!

The trailer was sadly panel exclusive, but here is quite a bit of info about what was shown!

I'm really curious how this one turns out. I really love the vaporware color scheme. (Ariana Grande just released a song with the same aesthetic borrowings, and immediately before another Youtube video, there was a backpack company advertising very vaporwavy. It finally bubbled up to the main stream, huh).

Agree, really like the colors.
Also seems like the protagonist is gonna be fun (calls himself Galo-sama lol). He is totally another Kamina, but I'm sure there will be some twist.
And what a voice actor cast.

Man, I remember when Kill la Kill aired, the forums basically exploded week after week... Good times.
Won't happen with a movie, especially when every region will get the movie at different times.

But, movie quality Imaishi Animation should make up for the lost community aspect in spades.

Yeah, the Kill la Kill topic used to be the one I had posted in the most. Good times. Hopefully the moment it comes out on bluray in Japan some people will reunite here.
Or maybe some forum user sees it in Japan (though I'll stay spoiler free).

Depending on how crazy it gets story wise, maybe people will keep talking about it after it comes out.

EDIT: Just leaving this here to not double post.

I just love how many more nuances real actors manage to cram into "anime" voices. Beautiful, and refreshing. Also, looks lit af, can't wait until the end of the year when the Blu-Ray releases, welp.
I so hope for a theatrical run...

I personally wouldn't go watch it at the cinema. But hope it does get runs outside Japan for other people.
Is there at all a usual time frame between movie release and bluray release? From examples I know, seems it's different each time.

Edit: Love how the cycle of a new Imaishi thing every three years continues.

It depends, but 6-9 months after the cinema release seems to be the norm in Japan.

I must be getting old or something...the pastel colors on a non-girly anime have been done before.

Also, "vaporware"? Isn't that software that gets incredibly over-hyped during a period before the supposed release date, only for the final product to never materialize?
