Facebook wants me to be friends with my ex-wife. Still, they did once get me back in contact with someone I'd met 30 years before, which was nice.

Rant 4: My younger brother is an asshole who thinks he can control me. He had a drug problem earlier this year which I won't go into details about. His friends are all delinquents. One of them is currently in jail for trying to kill his psychiatrist. My brother also constantly threatens me on almost a daily basis and my parents tell me to just ignore it. It doesn't make me feel any safer knowing that my brother keeps knives in his room either.

Best solution would be to move out when you can, I guess.

A few weeks ago a Gameboy game I had since I was a kid was stolen. So I looked for a new one on the internet. Turns out the game is semi rare. The few copies I found don't even ship to Portugal.

I know it's just a piece of plastic with circuits in it. But it's a piece of plastic with a lot of memories. And seeing has it's probably impossible to get the one I had back, at least I'd get an almost perfect substitute. But I can't even get that.

It drives me up the walls. I'm just going to keep looking until I find one, it just annoys too much.
I got legitimately sad about this, dammit.

Also, my internet is shit for some reason, fuck.

Yeah. Frankly, I tried to just forget about the whole thing in the beginning, but it's been weeks now and I'm still not over it.

I can't really tell how I got robbed. It was a uncomfortable and miserable situation and I'd rather just ignore that part.

Game is Konami GB Collection Vol 4. My parents bought when it came out, so when I was 4 or so. To make my search for that game even harder, the games are different in the american and Japanese versions, so Vol 4 is Vol 3 in Japan and vice versa.

I'm going to keep searching. It's bound to pop up eventually. I'm also looking in second hand stores in my area and such.

Ever since close to two years ago, I haven't been able to enjoy my vast collection of video cassette tapes because the VHS/DVD player I have keeps breaking down. It seems like every five years or so, I am buying a new player and this time around, no store in Puerto Rico sells it due to lack of demand and the closing of so many electronics sections of stores like Sears where I would usually get it.

I've found second-hand stores selling deceased old people's stuff can be a good source of little-used electronics. Basically these people's adult children bought these high-end electronics for them, except that they never learned to use them and so the VHS/DVD player only saw use when the grandchildren were visiting...

Got a high-end DVD player/hard disk recorder for 15 Euros that way (+ ten bucks for the remote from China).

...but my VHS player was free, as it was left on a bench at the entrance of my building with few traces of use. Also turned out to be one of the last models of high-end VHS players produced, costing something like 700 Euros new back when VHS players were being phased out and regular consumer models sold for 60 Euros or so ^_^ It has everything I'll ever need except for recording in Super VHS format, and can also be used for advanced video editing (there's even an optional advanced editing box available for even more options).

IDK whether after filling up the bathtub with extremely hot water and me feeling like I am dizzy afterwards as well as having constantly shaking hands even as I write this down counts as heatstroke or not.

Go to your doctor and talk to them and ask them to check your heart, as heart problems and diabetes can be linked to heart stroke from what I've heard, it might be nothing but I think its worth checking just for peace of mind. In the mean time drink lots of cold water and wet a small towel with ice cold water and sit and lower your head in to the towel and lean forward and remain for a least five minutes (This can cool you down and stop you feeling ill)

New Psycho Neighbour record for not being noisy at all: 13 days.

Also complaint #7.

Edit: Clarification: The bloody parents are there again, and apparently it's such a mess in that apartment that they've been busy since yesterday evening, apparently also at night, and this morning again (and noisily moving heavy stuff).

*idly wonders whether the really huge stack of empty alcohol bottles (dozens of 1l whisky bottles) that was at the old glass container yesterday came from Psycho Neighbour*

Edit 2: What's the world record for "Time it takes to vacuum a 60 sq.m apartment with two rooms and a bathroom"? They're close to 7 hours of total vacuuming time since yesterday... :???: :cringe:   :nyao:

Edit 3: Reaction to phone call about complaint overheard through ceiling: "Like I care." Too bad we haven't got ASBO's over here... :|

I've got a cold for the 3rd time in three months now... While it's not a super big issue it is super inconvenient, and gross when your nose fluid won't stop running. I guess that's the price I have to pay for having avoided the cold for... I can't even remember when I last had one, lol.

It seems our (pressurised) hot water tank has sprung a leak. The plumber can get a direct replacement early next week, and install it mid-week. However, the tank is mounted so near the floor I've only got about 8mm to insert something underneath to catch the water, and about a 12mm drop to the floor alongside the piece of wood it's on. So I've contrived an arrangement of plastic sheeting which directs the leaking water into a shallow baking tray, but it looks as if it won't have the capacity to catch all the water that will emerge overnight... It seems like I'll be up in the middle of the night to change the tray.

Oh crap...

Imagine it's The All Saints' and you're away from the city to visit a grave of your relatives (some 1.5 hr away by car). It's 9 am when you're praying by the grave lights and your phone RRRINGS to inform you that either you'll show up at your (rented) apartment ASAP or the firemen will smash through the door, because you're apparently flooding your neighbours down there, ie. water leaks through the ceiling on the lower floor.

Wasn't me; I was only woken up - ring, ring, knock, knock - at 6 am by an unnerved old lady being flooded and desperately searching for any help.

^I'd hate to be that guy.

In my case, I was eating a peanut butter sandwich last night when a piece of tooth that was between two fillings came off. I'd understand if it was something hard like nuts or corn chips, but peanut butter? That's like the front end of your car getting totaled because you ran into a bouncy house.

Some years ago, I pulled the top off of one of my teeth while eating some Camembert, and needed a crown fitting as a result.

It's not the hard and crunchy things that are the problem, it's the sticky ones that put the teeth under tension.

What's Camembert? Is it like caramel?

Camembert is cheese. Do you know Brie? Camembert's similar, but a smaller round, a bit runnier inside, and much smellier (ammoniacal, if properly ripe).

For retro (1970's) bad-taste points, you get a very small one (sold for the purpose) and deep fry it...
