I blame Anno's annoying perfectionism rather than Funimation.

Umm, BD/DVD combo? Uh oh, are they gonna jack up the price, then?

For the series releases Funi typically jacks the price up for the combos not sure about movies though. If it is a combo I wonder if it is their way of trying to say sorry for the delay

I don't think it will, SSD. DBZ: Resurrection F is also a BD/DVD combo and it's listed for the same price. I think the combo might be replacing the standard blu-ray release.
Someday I hope that we'll be reunited if that is what's destined to be. Perhaps we'll discover that elusive bible. And then we will finally be free!

Wrong, the re-dub was done Aug 2014, Funi has been sitting on it since then, my theory is they wanted to focus on promoting DBZ, as that is their golden egg laying goose.
I mean, predictability is the central attraction and the narrative hook that we've all come to expect from the Evangelion franchise. How come Anno can't realize this? Twice? - FreakyFilmFan4ever

Hmm, that's a good point, considering their 1.11 and 2.22 releases were separate DVD and BDs. Doesn't make me happy, but eh, no big deal in the end.

BlueBasilisk: Very true, lots of companies are doing combo releases it seems like.

Advertising DBZ shouldn't hold back one title considering they release others as normal, and they were pretty quick to release AoT last year despite the claim that they really wanted to push DBZ. If they never give a flat out answer as to why it took so long, that doesn't give the green light to make up reasons.
Please just call me Ian, "TheFrisky" is more of a title.

Well, literally everyone else on this forum is making up reasons so I may as well throw my hat into the ring. It's essentially "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" :D

So now, there' only three and half months to wait. I'm starting to wonder if it's more foolish to wait those months or get the HK edition now? I don't watch the dub on my Funi DVDs of the first two films, so am I missing anything important here? I don't know what to do after all this time.

If you've already waited so long, the extra three months shouldn't be all that bad. Me, I bought the Japanese BD and torrented UTW's copy. The Funimation BD/DVD is a novelty to me at this point.

About goddamn time.

I really can't stand Funi tbh; I hope that if the NGE blurays get a US release, someone OTHER than them gets the license.

^^ A novelty I'll certainly purchase. Like I said, I want that translated booklet. And I would also like to not have to plug in a computer to my TV overtime I want to watch Eva Q. That would be nice as well.

"They say everything is bigger in Texas, so we’re bringing that mentality with us to the Big Apple!" , oh Funi, you so silly.

Um, it's not yet three years since Q came out in theatres. It'll be just shy of two years after the originally announced date for Funi's edition.
