Anybody else as excited for this franchise revival as I am? I haven't played a Tony Hawk game since American Wasteland, but the THPS and Undergound series were some of my favorite games in high school.
I'll admit the realistic mechanics of the Skate series are better, but there's just something about the over-the-top nature of the Tony Hawk games that is highly enjoyable, and where else can you catch 100+ feet of air while doing a 1440 quadruple heelflip + christ air grab and land into a rail grind to make countless revolutions around an empty swimming pool?
Just one more week!

I'm actually pretty dang excited for this. Pro Skater 1 and American Wasteland were some of the most memorable games of my childhood and tween years respectively. It just sucks the 360 version doesn't come out until November 10, over a month later...
Can't wait to see and hear the track listing. There's always at least a dozen ear worms in every Tony Hawk.

Set phasers to thrill.
Hmm... undecided about this one.
I still feel that Pro Skater 2 was the best in the series: Pro Skater 3 and 4 were good, Underground 1 and 2 were okay, and, honestly, American Wasteland was just stupid.
I'll definitely check it out, though.

Yeah, the game is pretty bad. Lots of glitches, obnoxious loading screens, and a huge shortage of levels, pro skaters, and songs, as well as no story mode. Overall, very lazily put together, which is apparently explained by the fact that Activision's right to the THPS name expires at the end of this year; they were clearly trying to push something out quickly in order to bank on the cash cow one last time.
Other than being crap though, this was exactly the sort of game I've been looking for lately. Since I only have my PS4 at the moment, I was in need of this type of casual, arcade style game, and it helps that this plays on my nostalgia. Many of mechanics introduced in the THUG series were sadly dropped, including the ability to get off the board, which I suppose that gives it more of the authentic THPS feel, but there's a couple cool new features which makes the freestyle gameplay enjoyable, and some of the missions are pretty fun as well.
