right, as you may well know elfen lied is an ingenius little piece of work which would have been a delight to have endulged in for another 13 episodes. i know full well that it was based on a manga (as usual) and am asking with an open heart for anyone with some way of getting a copy of the manga or scannings of it - with english translations if possable - into my posession: please please do so. scans will be the most plausable, but the real thing would be ace.

i wouldn't bother with the manga, this is one case where the anime was definitely better. but if you really want to, i think you can still download it from LINK REMOVED

Indeed, I just saw the anime for the time last week (4 out of 5 stars by the way) and was considering the manga as well, so I'm curious too.

I liked the manga, only part I didn't like was how the vectors lied dormant.

Don't ask me why, it just bothered me.

Warning, spoilers. Where does this conclusion come from? I love the anime, but the manga is gorier, and funnier. The scene where Yuka confesses to Kohta is sooo much better in the manga, and Lucy forgiving Kohta as a proxy for his sister is just poorly handeled. I love the anime, I really do. It kicks the ass of a lot of recent anime, but if anyhting, it's too rushed.

I have not read the manga, just a summary a while back; the usual "from the same idea, with characters of the same names" seems to apply. In particular the endings are very different in nature.

Also, in before diaper-chan.

Elfen Lied has not been licensed for distribution in English as far as I can tell. But if you want to hunt for the scanlations, you can look into the scanlation groups that were working on the series:

the execution was just better in the anime, reading the manga felt like watching a B-movie, where the gore was just there as fanservice. a lot of the sillier stuff was also cut out from the anime.

I agree with most of everyone's sentiments here. The EL manga was complete garbage.
He was warrior and mystic, ogre and saint, the fox and the innocent, chivalrous, ruthless, less than a god, more than a man. There is no measuring Muad'Dib's motives by ordinary standards. In the moment of his triumph, he saw the death prepared for him, yet he accepted the treachery. Can you say he did this out of a sense of justice? Whose justice, then? Remember, we speak now of the Muad'Dib who ordered battle drums made from his enemies' skins, the Muad'Dib who denied the conventions of his ducal past with a wave of the hand, saying merely: "I am the Kwisatz Haderach. That is reason enough."

Do that instead. Because the Hellsing manga is awesome, and the Elfen Lied manga is not.
