Yes, but they would be forced to sell the game in only 20-30 shops in Japan with no advertisement at all and they would have to revise their projection for the sales, ending up being a bomba(20k max) instead of selling 200k+ in whole Asia.

^It could be a special edition not marketed alongside the main game. DoA Extremer, I mean, the work is practically done already, they would just need to alter a few things and cash in on the extra sales. The potential for bad publicity is probably what keeps this from happening.

I don't know A.T. I think we already passed that point. If they could re-coup the costs, they would probably already have done it.

Re: Dead or Alive Xtreme 3
Famitsu's review for DOAX3 is in. Surprisingly the game did pretty well, scoring 8/8/8/8 or 32/40. Both versions got the same scores.

This is good, I was worried about the game being buggy or unpolished due to the ultra-short 7 month development cycle. Now I'm not as worried.

That doesn't mean the assets aren't recycled. (I have no idea whether they are or not.)

From what I've seen, all the assets look new. The character models look better than the ones used in Last Round. I could be wrong, though.

Re: Dead or Alive Xtreme 3
DOAX3 basic free-to-play version coming to Japan this summer.
http://gematsu.com/2016/03/dead-alive-x ... rly-summer
Expected to be similar to DOA5 Core Fighters, where you get the game and a few characters for free but have to pay for the rest of the cast. So I guess in a way, DLC characters are already confirmed for DOAX3. They're already putting the framework in place with the F2P version, now there's no way the 6 ladies who didn't make the cut aren't getting in as DLC in the future.

That's true, although in this the assets aren't recycled (at least that is what KOEI says).

Re: Dead or Alive Xtreme 3
New trailer for the Vita version:
http://gematsu.com/2016/03/dead-alive-x ... ta-trailer
And a new set of Marie Rose-centric screenshots:

Man, I'm amazed at how good the Vita version looks. They must really be pushing the hardware to its limits. Also, I really like how you can now freeze the scene and choose your camera angle at your leisure in photo mode.

Re: Dead or Alive Xtreme 3
The graphics for Vita look really good. Actually it might be the prettiest game after Uncharted Golden Abyss and Killzone. KOEI did some kinda of voodoo magic there because it looks very similar to the PS4 version.

Yeah. I'm interested in buying this. Though I'm concerned about dropping money on it and the finished product not being worth it.

Just a reminder that there's less than 5 days until DOAX3's release! My pre-order is currently preparing for shipment.

Re: Dead or Alive Xtreme 3
I can't wait to see how much DLC they are going to push out.... I wonder if it'll be worse than the DOA5 $93 season passes(which there are 3 of IIRC).

Re: Dead or Alive Xtreme 3
It will definitely be worse than that. K/T knows this game is niche, they're going to nickel and dime us for all we're worth to turn a profit.
Here's a video of a Thai gamer who has a bad memory and doesn't know any Japanese stumbling through the game for an hour:
There's some good volleyball action around the 30-minute mark (which is how long it takes him to find the volleyball option). Interestingly, there's also some sort of mission/experience point system in the game for some reason. There's a few nice additions to the hotel room, such as unlimited photo mode and the ability to shop for swimsuits while in the room. The menu system looks a lot more convoluted than previous games, so I'll try to translate the menus when I get my copy and post them here. Sadly it looks like the Jungle area from previous games was removed from DOAX3, as well as Bass Island, but the two beaches are still there. I smell DLC in the works.

Re: Dead or Alive Xtreme 3
Unfortunately my copy seems to be stuck in packing hell, and according to the Gamefaqs DOAX3 board, I'm not alone. Apparently there's more than one holiday this weekend in Asia, and as a result Play-Asia is running on a skeleton crew and it's taking them forever to process all the orders (DOAX3 is selling so well that they already ran out of stock once). K/T sure picked a great time to release this game.

Not enough content for the price, IMO. And I find it hilarious that the Marie Rose mousepad has bigger breasts than Marie herself.
My pre-order still hasn't shipped, by the way. I'll be lucky if I get it before the end of the month.
