You can read more about it here: http://forum.evageeks.org/thread/7146/Official-Rebuild-Dub-Thread/
But to sum up, Khara made them redo the dub with more oversight, and Funimation's twitters says they are "waiting for Evangelion 3.33 to be completed," whatever that means. They hope to have it out by winter, apparently.

Re: What happened to the blu ray ?
There isn't one of those yet. UK releases are based off US ones.

Khara probably thought that having more presence in the US script would lessen confusion, and the wait is the result of them realizing that their movie is balls to the walls absurd no matter how many times you rewrite the script.
Please just call me Ian, "TheFrisky" is more of a title.

Funimation keeps claiming that they're working closely with the original filmmakers (Anno even?) in order to make the translation as accurate as possible, but Hideaki Anno is off preparing for a Godzilla movie that’ll be released next year and hopefully getting some Eva Shin pre-production done.
Only Roger Corman can get these many things done that quickly.

I demand a documentary about the making of the English dub for 3.33. It'd probably be more entertaining than anything in Rebuild thus far.
Among the people who use the Internet, many are obtuse. Because they are locked in their rooms, they hang on to that vision which is spreading across the world. But this does not go beyond mere ‘data’. Data without analysis [thinking], which makes you think that you know everything. This complacency is nothing but a trap. Moreover, the sense of values that counters this notion is paralyzed by it.

Anime Expo is coming up, and Funimation always has an industry panel. I'll let you guys know if they announce anything, assuming that they don't put it up on a public website at the same time.
Shin Evangelion brought me back, five long years later.

I pre-ordered it when Evageeks first posted a listing on rightstuf.com as the first place you can pre-order Eva 3.33. I get emails every two weeks saying "We're working on it". I'm not sweating it, I paid it so long ago. But it's funny getting those emails every so often and laughing every time.
Also I remember seeing Funi's original dub in January 2014. That is fucking crazy. This sucker has taken sooo long, it's unreal. But if it's for a better dub and 4.44 is so far out right now anyway, it doesn't hurt matters too much.

Yes, a company who care about nothing but profit should tell the original creators their vision doesn't matter.
That actually sounds exactly like Funimation. I'm shocked and amazed they haven't done that yet. Guess khara finally wised up about who they license their stuff to and put together a contract that better represents them. Good for khara.
