Too bad. I was actually about to introduce Shining Force and Phantasy Star to a friend via the App Store. The bit at the end about a possibly enhanced version gets me a bit excited though.

Sega has stated that these ports could come back to the App Store and Google Play, with enhancements, so that should be something fans can look forward to. For now, any Sega fans who weren’t able to download these titles will have to make due with what they currently have.

If not to make enhancements and rerelease, what other reasons could they have for pulling those titles from the store?[/quote]

There's some Phantasy Star stuff still up at archive.org, which has some sort of official relationship with Sega and other rightsholders allowing them to be played for free. Sonic Spinball's still up as well, which was also mentioned in the article.
