Anybody watching this? EGF tweets are posted to the main page/news page. I wonder if he'll talk about anything particularly interesting?

I always find it somewhat ironic that whenever Anno autographs something, he always uses King: a character from an anime that arguably was the greatest contribution of stress and malaise in his entire career.
Among the people who use the Internet, many are obtuse. Because they are locked in their rooms, they hang on to that vision which is spreading across the world. But this does not go beyond mere ‘data’. Data without analysis [thinking], which makes you think that you know everything. This complacency is nothing but a trap. Moreover, the sense of values that counters this notion is paralyzed by it.

And so we arrive at demagogy. - Hideaki Anno, 1996

Maybe it's a "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" kind of thing.
Shinji: "Sooner or later I'll be betrayed... And they'll leave me. Still... I want to meet them again, because I believe my feelings at that time were real."
Ryuko: "I'm gonna knock ya on your asses!"
-Asuka: THINK IN GERMAN!!! -Shinji: Öh... Baumkuchen...
Hayashida: "As game developers, our work is special. All of us here can put smiles on very many people's faces with our work."

I've never seen Miyazaki with his hair this long. He looks like a hipster college professor. I never thought I'd see the day when Anno was better put-together than Miyazaki, but....

That's a cosplayer.

Miyazakis are pretty common at various anime events.

I'm gonna naturally assume he talked more about Animator Expo and maybe Godzilla than FINAL, but anybody know for certain?

Don't know if this is from the same event, but there was a recent interview with Anno by Dwango/Kadokawa a few days ago that does seem to give some juicy details about what he's been up to lately.

“I purposely try to keep my own storyboards from being too complete,” [Anno] explains. “I just put in the essential points of what will be interesting, and the direction from their changes depending on the individual who handles the next step. My part is to provide the raw materials.”

“I want to leave some space in my storyboards to let them become more interesting. I want the anime to change like a living thing…[and] to keep searching, as much as possible, for a more interesting way to handle it.”

Well this is interesting.
