Wat.
Look i know nobody has their own ideas any-more but.........i don't see it.
Westworld worked perfectly for its running time, it gave you a concept, showed it off, had its plot and then concluded and was generally a good movie............a series? yeah this wont sustain itself.

First Teaser Trailer --- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OM8HNuRLIBI

Also they have said to differentiate themselves from the original and as to not retread the same path, they will be focusing on the machines perspective and the science of the concept.

Has anyone watched this yet?

I thoroughly enjoyed the premier.

SPOILER: Show
I particularly liked the saloon shootout set to an orchestral "Paint it Black"

Ed Harris and Evan Rachel Wood are amazing.

The tone, acting and direction were all very good, but I think it needed to pose a few more lingering questions and leave the episode on more of a cliffhanger, as those ensure more viewer retention after a pilot.

Still good, though.

I think it rewarded paying close attention.

SPOILER: Show
The fly at the end...

I just wish the trailers weren't spoiling that Dolores is going to lead a robot uprising.

SPOILER: Show
I don't think that close attention had to be paid to come to that conclusion. I mean, it was pretty telegraphed that they were going to set that up, what with the flies crawling all over the faces and eyeballs of the hosts in the preceding 74 minutes.

What I'm more interested in is how The Man in Black is managing to circumvent detection of his anomalous behavior. The guy reaction is that it was something that Ford engineered deliberately.

The man in black isn't a host, he's a frequent guest.

and yeah, it was pretty good!

I said they were both good actors not that they're both hosts :p

Seriously wondering wtf the man in black is up to.

SPOILER: Show
He and Wood played off each other so well. The whole scene was incredibly disturbing. Dolores was desperate to take some kind of action but she just can't. What a horrible thing to do to obviously sentient beings.

Really really awesome pilot.
Loved them switching it up on us with...
SPOILER: Show
The Man in Black being a guest & this is actually a sequel to the original film

Wood is absolutely fantastic.

Hopkins is phenomenal as always.
He is clearly utterly disillusioned with what he has crafted but still entranced & fond of it.
Jeffrey Wright is a very underrated actor, very pleased he will have a role to really delve into here.

Love the small little things they put in to make things more unique such as the Man in Black using a obscure cap & ball Le Mat Revolver instead of a Colt or Remington like everyone else.

That is a LeMat, I didn't notice. I just thought he had a lanyard ring for flair.

I love LeMats so much I've thought about picking up a replica.
