Yeah. You read right. This is for everything that doesn't have anything to do with Eva.

I wouldn't be so quick to assume that everything is done the way it is for a good reason. Maybe the courtroom shouldn't be such a harsh environment, and that a more holistic assessment of a potential lawyer's value to it would improve confidence in outcomes, trust in the system, societal cohesiveness, and the reputation of the profession.

Yes, I would agree that it would definitely be better if a softer approach to teaching could be employed but it's highly unlikely to actually work in the real world. It's a contest by default so that's inevitably going to have things leaning towards the aggressive approach. Granted that doesn't mean students should be told they need to be as ruthless and underhanded as they possibly can and that a kinder approach is totally useless, but they do need to experience what they can realistically expect to come up against once they've entered the courtroom. If they don't get a taste of that while in school they're going to be at a severe disadvantage once they leave.

I recently found out I only have to take 2 more classes to apply for the University. Which is a relief for me because I was expecting to have to take about 6 more classes in order to transfer.

That's good, Ray. But why did you think you needed to take 6 classes? That seems excessive.

Basically I attended two community colleges at once to get as many credits as I needed to transfer. But there was apparently confusion. Because the two community colleges operate on two different systems when it comes to transferable credits.

For example I took a history 164 class because I needed a history 160 credit in order to qualify to transfer. one College said it counted another said itdidn't. Fortunately that got all sorted out and the classes I took at the other campus did count. So now all I have to do is take two more classes and I can successfully transfer to State University.

The thing is I'm not sure if I really want to transfer to a State University. Especially given all the controversies that have happened over the past couple years at college campuses. Especially given I have conservative leanings.

Universities should be about critical thought, not brain-washing. Even if you find yourself with different views from many of your fellow students, that should be no more than further practice for life (unless you actually want to hide yourself away in a like-thinking enclave). You may find that you need to be prepared to argue critically in defence of your views, though.

That's not anything to worry about, Ray. Especially if you're going in as a junior, you'll probably be too preoccupied with your studies to get caught in any potential crossfire you might be worried about. I've been to university in the last few years, and on several different campuses; it's nowhere near as bad as the internet fear/hate machine makes it out to be.

I see, thanks for the explanation and I'm glad those two schools managed to fix things so you didn't get shafted through no fault of your own.

I think you should go to a state university if you wan't. There's always going to be some type of trouble no matter where you go so you shouldn't let it effect what you chose to do in life.

I ate goat meat for the first time tonight. It was really strange. I texture not unlike stewed beef, but the flavor was something I hadn't ever tasted before. I wouldn't call it gamey but it was more savory than I expected it to be.

Very tasty.

Voted today. I know it's kind of a normal thing and not really worth being an RML, but this was the first time I've voted for a candidate/party where I agree with the vast majority of what they stand for instead of going with one of the two main parties and voting for the little monster to keep the big monster out (not naming names, so don't try to turn this into a debate, that was not my intention here). Even though I pretty much know my candidate of choice stands no chance of winning, it's still a great feeling voting for something I actually believe in for once.

That is what I did as well. First time ever voting 3rd party and it felt great. As my longtime friend since we were 5 says: "The only vote wasted is the one not cast".

Anything that leads to backups is a good idea; some people in the business like to say that digital data doesn't exist unless there are at least two copies of it.
