Rick and Morty
Sci-fi action-adventure comedy series by Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland currently airing on Adult Swim every Monday @ 10:30 EST. i must admit, when i first saw the promos for the show i thought they were too schlocky and overly meta, but alas, most fortunately for me and the rest of us, they were in no way indicative of the zany, very politically incorrect and hilarious adventures of the eponymous characters. Four episodes in, there is already a fairly wordy page about the show on tvtropes.org and a fanbase that seems to only grow with each passing day. So bearing all of this in mind, i have only one question for you, evageeks: Anyone else enjoy this show?
Thank you for making this thread!
I love Rick and Morty. Been a fan since the first episode.
Actually, Adult Swim puts the episodes on their Youtube page (for free) so you can watch it
(if you don't have cable)
really one of the best shows [AS] has aired in a good long while
I urge everyone to at least check it out.

Yes. This show is very good. I don't usually start watching shows that haven't even aired for a full season but I'm really liking this so far.
SPOILER: Show

Oh man, this is one of the few shows on tv right now that I actually keep up with. It was love at first sight... biiiiitch.
Here's a cartoon that finally answers the age-old question: What if the professor from Back to the Future was a morbidly alcoholic mad scientist with more than just a time-traveling car in his garage?

In my heart of hearts I know I should give shows a chance to prove themselves, but I am very susceptible to rolling my eyes and groaning, "Oh, look, it's the 'two -- more rarely three -- male protagonists getting into crazy antics' premise that I absolutely haven't ever seen before."

I think it's called not being a part of the target demographic.

Granted, it deals with a lot of tired plot points. One episode is just a big Inception parody, which eventually merges with a Nightmare on Elm Street parody. Another episode involves Morty being shrunk down to the size of a mite, after which he goes on an adventure through the human body. We saw the Magic Schoolbus do this twenty years ago, but now the host is a dead hobo, and most of his guts have been meticulously turned into a disgusting amusement park for a very good reason that I can't quite remember.
It all depends on your sense of humor of course, and its target demographic is unquestionably male. I haven't had this much fun with a new show in a long time, though.

So how many people here have seen the original "Doc and Mharti" shorts from which Rick and Morty... uh... mutated?

It's acceptable. BP
Just noticed when Morty started screaming, that's Lemongrab, isn't it?

"Rixty Minutes" is by a large margin my favorite episode. The key emotional story had some real emotions & great callbacks to early episodes BUT the TV segments were incredible. You could tell 80% of the jokes were improvised in the recording booth & then the show was built around those wandering bits of silliness.
