Yeah. You read right. This is for everything that doesn't have anything to do with Eva.

Went and saw Black Sabbath tonight. Easily the best concert I've ever been to. Gonna be sad to see them go after this tour is over but what a way to go out.

Also, picked up the autographed tour CD, which is very limited:

This definitely going to be put away. Autographs from the godfathers of metal.

Some developed photos from my recent holiday. Blue tint is a processor fuckup, unfortunately.

One week just wasn't enough. Got to do it again.

A starter set of pictures from my visit to South Africa; some are from the Kruger National Park, and some from a private game reserve called Lissataba where we stayed:

The hippo had probably been injured by a crocodile and managed to escape and climb away from the river, where it collapsed. It was moribund, but not quite dead when the vultures started eating it (we saw it move a foreleg just once)

Fifty years ago today, due to a launch malfunction of a communications satellite, the BBC ran an opportunistic program "Down Under Comes Up LIVE" with the first live TV broadcast from the UK to the Satellite Tracking Station in Carnarvon, WA. And so I got to appear on live TV.

Had to drive down to Canberra this morning for a mates funeral. Needed to leaver pretty early and spent most of the drive in heavy fog on the Hume. My dash-cam unfortunately packed it in, otherwise I would have had some good shots but took these once the fog finally cleared around lake George. Quality isn't the best as it was on my phone.

Very pretty snow this morning - but the main roads around Oxford have completely closed sections, so my intended trip to London (for a 90th birthday lunch party) is sadly off. My daughter was stuck on a blocked main road for several hours, but has just now got home.

It snowed too, where I live. But today and tomorrow temperatures rise to +15°C before dropping below the freezing point again on Wednesday. Just enough time for the beautiful snow to disappear. December is the April of Winter, I feel.

Today I spent a few hours looking through some of the picture I took last February when I had the chance to see F1 cars on track, and 95% of the pictures are like this

Those things are too fast, I think I've got just one really good picture without fences and stuff blocking the view

Was teaching a studio lighting course and figured I'd sit for a few. One of the students is shooting all of her projects on expired rolls of 35mm velvia. Thought this one came out interesting. Plenty of imperfections, might even be a hair out of focus. My guess is that she accidentally splotched some fixer drops on it too that account for that mark where my glasses are. Either way, I'm overly fond of it. Broken things are fun. The expiration date was in '03 and I'm surprised it held up this well, haven't had much luck with expired Superia. Bad scan too, it's like the holy grail.
