[LAEM] Eva Live Actions Movie - A big hoax?

I've heard somewhere (don't remember where exactly) that the Eva Live Actions movie could be just a big plain joke.
Is that true? Cuz if it is, we're all being laughed about right now by someone...

If it is... I will so kill whoever started it. Slowly and painfully. Probably with a comicly misshapen carrot and a butterknife.

But I really don't think it is true though. The Hoax I meen. You have all these people who are involved in it. (Though WETA has no page for it yet, they did confirm my EMail though), there have also been a lot of press releases and stuff, lots of concept art and lots of confirmation.

But still.... *Grabs Butterknife and Carrot*

If it were a hoax, it would be a needlessly elaborate hoax. Since the margin of people who care enough to joke that they would kill is actually quite small, it would be wool unworth pulling over anyone's eyes.

Although, I wonder how many people bought that Director's Cut DVD for the inverview and concepts? Granted it'd be cold, but if the numbers were high enough, I suppose it could make for good marketing. Then you just have to make some bullshit excuse as to why the film can't go on; maybe even go so far as to list fan angst as a reason.

But due to the small-scale hype this project has generated, you can bet that if it's announced "There will be no movie," there's still gonna be a bloody movie.

Tiffany Grant confirmed it and Weta unofficially confirmed it. It's on IMDB as well. It could still get scraped I guess but I doubt that it's a giant hoax.

This movie is not a hoax. If it is than Gainax, WETA, and ADV are all in on it.

I defnintely am sure it's not a Hoax, but the movie is still in very early pre-production, a lot of movies tend to get canceled in this stage of development. I will feel safe when they go into production.

But seriously, this is not a hoax seeing how ADV, WETA and GAINAX are supporting it. But there is that chance that it could be cancelled. The thing is would that be a good thing or bad thing?

And I think that it would be a bad thing for the project to be cancelled because even if it does not go along with the original stoey line of eva it will open up others eyes to the exponentially diverse and wonderful world of EVA. what do you think?
