Ok so hi guys and gals, i'm a newbie on evageek's and i'm not sure if this is against the terms and conditions as the page 404'd when i went to check, so anyway i live in Australia and have been furiously hunting down a region 4 evangelion platinum boxed set, if anyone knows where i could find one for sale or even if someone has one they wouldnt mind parting with, please post here and we can discuss an arrangement, i unfortunately missed the 2006 release of it here with madman entertainment

thanks for your time fellas

I've seen other region DVDs, but not region 4. I'm having a bit of trouble looking for a region 4 box set as well. I know of sets of "4 episodes per DVD", but no complete box sets.
Good luck, it's hell to find DVDs that have been out of print since 2006.

yea its a bastard of a task, i have the original vhs set, but hunting down the platinum edition dvd box set or even just the original version's on dvd for region 4 is no easy task, cant wait for evangelion 3.33 to be released through madman entertainment, its a shame the jp release is raw and doesn't have english subs :(

Wouldn't it be easier and quicker to convert a DVD player for region-free operation? That also covers things that have never been produced in more than one region.

Could be a worth while investment, thanks for the advice, its not so much that it was never produced for region 4 though, its just rare is all :(

I would have bought a different region DVD ages ago, since my DVD player can play all regions.
I'd like to lend it to friends, though, so I don't really want a different region DVD unless I'm desperate.

If you're really desperate you can download the ISO files online (use google) and then play them using your computer. Although they are fairly huge (47.8 GB).

Late to the game unfortunately - Though if you do keep your eyes on eGay, R4 Platinum sets pop up all the time to varying prices.
I have a mate that usual lets me know when a good one comes up because he knows how much I hate the MM 10th Anniversary version I have, and have been wanting the regular fatpack for a while now.

And yeah; stoked for MM 3.33 BD release, haha.

i check daily for them on ebay, price isnt really an issue for me, not when i want something bad enough anyway ha ha, but last one that sold was on may 13th, such a shame madman produced such a limited quantity, ive considered buying the region 1 boxed set and then stripping the region code of the disks to make it playable on any device but i dno, having the actual madman edition would be much cooler O_o

I know how you feel. It was only early last year that I finally got my hands on R4 D+R and EOE releases, which I got from buying from someone else who was kind enough to sell over on the Madboards. Looks like you going to have to do the same with Platinum, or wait it out on eBay.

Luck dude.

What do you hate about the R4 MM 10th anniversary edition?

Aside from the fact that the first copy I bought from Big W had a shoddy disc, I was pretty happy to snatch it up.
well that's good for you then

Ugly border art, yo.
Detracts from the overall presentation and looks shitty compared to the regular box set and fatpack.

But hey, still better than nothing right?

I'm not even going to bother looking for a MM Eva boxset I'm just going to save up for a US PS4 and then hunt down a copy of the R1 version. Tis the perfect plan.:emogendo:

No need to "hunt" - RightStuf still have the R1 thinpack in-stock:
