I might have worded my previous post a bit poorly. I'm in no way suggesting that we'd get anything from deciphering those melodies. I just had a crazy idea for those who REALLY want to dig into the whole "hidden meaning" stuff ;)
However, if there indeed is a message hidden within the soundtrack, I will declare Anno the God of Everything Cryptic and worship him eternally

Oh god, the first part turned out to be quite ranty... Sorry for that!

I could get behind there being some sort of massive glyph sequence in 4.0 to decipher. It would be fun! I hope.

I do love codes. Finally, all of my experience playing ARGs will pay off.

Is it possible the glyphs convey messages in a musical language, e.g. Solresol?

I just had the opposite thought; what if the soundtrack conveys the message through text? All we need are some more translations of the glyphs.

EDIT : acording to some comments on the YT link, this song is based on the song "Borderline Case" from NGE... which is a song that plays when we are deep into Asuka's infamous Mind Rape scene...
Personally I don't find any similarity, but you can try :

Still, if it's true... then stop it Anno... please just fucking stop it.

Yeah, I hear the similarity. With "Borderline Case", start around 40 seconds into it, and you'll hear the part that matches the beginning of the corridor music (it does not match the rapid part that the glyphs revealed, but rather the notes that are slower and higher). Cool! It's also similar to "Yume no Sukima" from the End of Evangelion soundtrack: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CftRlbTmOLY

My goodness, this is a really interesting discovery! I wonder if these glyphs hold any other surprises for us?

It also helps knowing that "A-4" is the label that Shiro Sagisu gave for the original "Borderline Case" track from NGE. The piece that plays during Shinji's breakdown in Q is named "Quelconque 56 avec A-4 2 pianos plus" or (loosely translated) "Ordinary 56 with A-4 and 2 pianos"

A-4 is actually one of the most frequently modified and recycled themes in the whole Evangelion soundtrack with somewhere around 10 different versions if you count the 2 from Rebuild, those being "Long Slow Pain" and the one just mentioned.
Among the people who use the Internet, many are obtuse. Because they are locked in their rooms, they hang on to that vision which is spreading across the world. But this does not go beyond mere ‘data’. Data without analysis [thinking], which makes you think that you know everything. This complacency is nothing but a trap. Moreover, the sense of values that counters this notion is paralyzed by it.

So we can conclude that "A-4" is the official code for "mindfuck song" in the Evangelion franchise soundtrack right?

Pretty much.

I'm pretty sure the only instance in which it plays in a non-introspective/mindfuck way is during Yui's farewell to Shinji in EOE.

Anno, you magnificent bastard.... This just made my night!

As for piano melodies, what about the one that plays right before Kaworu closes the Doors of Guf? That theme is used pretty often in the movies, IIRC.

Didn't know about the dummy plug, but now I'm fangasming over it. As to the glyphs, that's different than the Nov. 16th release, where it was the standard tanagram'd Nerv logo.

I knew there was something up with that noise. But that it would be such a cool backwards-message...
