They're on all of the Angel-sealing pillars seen in both 2.0 and 3.0.

They're in the 2.0 CRC book, page 87, credited to Anno himself.

Seem to be alien writings
Maybe they are copies of the language present in the Dead Sea Scrolls?

With 88 characters, there's no obvious match to a character set (unlike the Madoka witch-runes).

Google gives 使徒封印用呪詛文様 as "Apostle Sealing curse pattern" so it seems to be the typical Gainax/khara Kanjiflood way of saying some straightforward as Anti-Angel Runes.

Was there threads about this before? I can't imagine there weren't some back in 2.0 days but too lazy to look.

Apparently, none of the glyphs listed match with the ones on the tangram logo. Sigh... well, it's Eva after all.

But what bugs me on that new logo is: why the two glyphs of the right are exactly the same as those on the left, just flipped 90º?
Flipped glyphs means different things or just stylish placement?

Originally I was planning to play this game myself, but then I realized I like sleep.

But in case anyone is incredibly bored....

Here's a nice clean version of the CRC glyphs, with rows and columns numbered for easy reference

SPOILER: Show

And here are all the glyphs from the DSS Choker screen, with their associated letter.

It may have to do that the glyphs in the NERV logo are stylized but i cant identifiy any of those with the glyphs on the sheet for which we have letters/numbers.

Is that only me or was it allready deciphired?

These symbols have appeared many times throughout the rebuilt films. This could be something groundbreaking and important! Or not...........Considering that this is Anno we are talking about. He most likely won't touch these things in 4.0 anymore..... :raincloud:

Free time, so just made this (thanks TMBounty!):
SPOILER: Show
Image

These damn things are painful to recognize, and the font in the DSS Choker screen doesn't help much too. Couldn't figure the "8/B" and "R/K" bits thanks to it.
And this is the tangram-logo next to Fuyu when he invites Shinji to play Scary-Shogi.
SPOILER: Show
Image

As you can expect, none is associated with the alpha-glyphs.

Nice work there.

Nice work. I'd put my bets on "B" (you can see a line to the left) and "K" (since there is a clearly recognizable "R" already).

Ow, thanks Ramiel & Reichu.

These things really intrigue me; I was trying to find some hidden message on the DSS Choker, and I discovered two facts:
- The glyphs spin in a "8" shape, or "infinite" symbol if you prefer;
- There's no way to find a message there because the glyphs change every freakin' time!
On normal speed you don't notice this, but only when you stop frame by frame you see that they change in a blink.

ANNOOOO

I'm starting to think that these symbols actually lead to nowhere, just a incomplete puzzle tossed to the fans spend their neurons trying to solve it.

glyph next to 13A at the bottom is 10,1 with 90° counterclockwise rotation.
glyph next to 13alpha at the bottom is 10,1 with 90° clockwise rotation.

glyphs on the left and right are still the 10,1.

Left ones are 10,1 with 90° clockwise rotation and mirror effect. (don't know how to explain it in english, sorry)
Right ones are 10,1 with 90° counterclockwise rotation and mirror effect. (don't know how to explain it in english, sorry)

I suppose we don't have to care about the mirrored one and wonder if there is one rotation for greek alphabet and one for latin alphabet.

At least, we can assume that 10,1 is for 1st letter of the alphabet. So, it is an A.

Considering 3.0's very strong Nadia referential material, I also thought of that comparison. What's interesting, though, is that this isn't only a 3.0 thing but also a 2.0 thing.

Also, some points:

1) Seems like they intentionally gave us all of the vowels. With that, assuming there's no foul play, we may be able to figure out other characters through context.

2) They obviously designed these to be compact to annoy us, they want us to look into these characters. With that being said, there's probably not going to be much of value, but they probably want to keep us busy while production for 4.0 is going on.

3) I'm under the assumption that all of the current "2" characters are probably capitalized letters. That gives us 48 characters out of the current 88. Perhaps the remaining 40 are the main kana in hiragana or katakana? (therefore Wa Wo N are out of the picture?) It's difficult to say.

4) I'm going to take a wild guess and say the nerv logo probably has N E R V in it and are probably all of the "2" versions of them since the logo is usually capitalized. Could really be anything though.
