^ Did Disney by Gundam and not tell anyone?

Not that I'm not excited for more Gundam, but... this sounds very familiar.

^Yeah, my mind there too when I read that (I wonder if Sunrise realizes Disney scrapped that plan?). But to play devils advocate here, Sunrise might be knowing where to go more with Gundam than Disney did with Star Wars. They already announced what I think is called the "UC Next 100" project, where they plan out the next 100 years of the Universal Century, or at least fill out the spaces between Unicorn, F91 & Victory. Though in my opinion, I would like some of the movies to be AU.

^ Well, on the plus side Sunrise has owned Gundam the whole time (correct me if I'm wrong), so they would be the best suited to put out that many Gundam projects in a year and keep it true to form. Though I agree, I'd like some AU projects as well. As much as I enjoy UC, my favorite Gundam is still Wing. So maybe make Frozen Teardrop into a series (or movie series), or I'd love them to expand G Gundam like with a movie or something, four years later during the follow-up tournament, or have Domon and Rain's kid being the fighter for Neo-Japan.

Sort of off topic but interesting nonetheless. Gundam Seed director Mitsuo Fukuda details the rigorous work schedule of a Sunrise female production assistant:

While this is an extreme example, this is pretty close to the norm for people working in animation. People are trying to generate awareness for years now. Things seemingly slowly start to change.

I've tried watching Gundam Unicorn and Blood Ironed Orphans and stopped due to utter boredom, then I tried Turn A and Reconquista and stopped due to utter confusion.
Now, in my eternal struggle to understand the appeal of Gundam, I've tried watching Gundam F91.
It starts off with Tomino's strong suit. Depicting utter chaos. He really is a master when it comes to that. Also, visually, this is just a feast for the eyes. In this part of the movie my suspension of disbelief was only almost shattered. Despite the tasty visuals, I couldn't bring myself to care after 54 minutes, which makes this the 5th failed attempt of watching a Gundam.

This is an object lesson in how not to watch Gundam.

You start with 0079 and work onwards -- Unicorn assumes you know what went on in 0079, Z, ZZ, and Char's Counterattack and feeds you chunks of "what happened to everybody in later years?"; G-Reco and Turn A are from the distant future of all that. IBO is the only stand-alone, from a different continuity entirely, but still checks a number of "This is Gundam" boxes. (The general consensus was that it also has its own problems, but that's not "because it's Gundam").

0080 War in the Pocket works alone, I think (it was my introduction to the universe); though even in that knowing a little background might help.

I'm sorry. I really want to like it, but Tomino's style quickly turns form utter fascination, to burnt-out exhaustion in a matter of Minutes.
War in a Pocket is the one everybody seems to agree on being a masterpiece, so I might try that next.

It's only six eps, so it's not a big commitment.

And I love the OP and ED.

Have you tried watching Wing, 00, or G Fighter?

^ G Fighter is campy yes, but it embraces the camp. Wing and 00 however have a more serious tone with occasional bits of humor. Though both stories drag in places, it not extremely drawn out, and Wing's film Endless Waltz is quite good.

@robersora: I have to agree with 0080 for the best entry into the Universal Shows. I personally believe it handles themes that Tomino puts into his Gundam shows better than what he did. If you're looking for one of the AU shows, I recommend Gundam X. The story is practically Gundam meets Mad Max, but what they do is that the main story gets told in little mini arcs of two to four episodes each. So if you find the show doesn't hook you, at least you don't have to waste much time with it.

Gundam IBO is getting (at least) a spin-off mobage -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hF7afHHfQA4

Not sure what the motive for making it look a bit like it's meant to be a crossover with Aria might be, though.

So, I finally watched Gundam Wing. I watched it dubbed and I really enjoyed it. So, here are my thoughts on it. Heero is cute, but I like Trowa best. ^_^ I loved the whole split personalities thing with Lady Une. Relena is a boring female lead and makes a ton of derpy face during the Just Love ending. Though I still wish her and Heero had gotten together, same with Duo and Hilde too. I love Duo's dub voice it's so bad it's good. Trowa's dub voice is good, while Heero's is too serious, and Quatre's sounds like a 10 year old's. XD I love how Quatre's like OMG, I wanna be friends with everybody. The music in the series is so good I love Just Communication, White Reflection, and Rythm Emotion. Endless Waltz was amazing though Mariemaia was annoying asf. I also love Noin. I think she's awesome. My next Gundam series is gonna be Mobile Fighter G.
