I just happened to see those last week and boy was I astounded.

Speculation-wise, the relationship between shinji and Kaworu will be addressed and it seems like Shinji is happy at first, but later in the trailer he shows signs of frustration. My guess - Kaworu tries to alleviate Shinji's problems by giving him a friend, but takes it to the next level and tries to get him to just forget everyone and let 3I happen, causing Shinji to see past him and reject him.

Asuka and Mari are back in action and my guess is that they are working to stop Seele and will eventually meet and work together. Although, Mari seems to be the type that would tease Asuka while they are working.

Rei is back, but from what's been shown in the trailer, she may either be Rei III or probably forgot what happened after the events of the last movie. My guess - if it's either, then Rei will eventually come to remember what happened and go to assists Shinji, how this is done is anyones guess though, perhaps Unit 08.

So it seems mari will continue to pilot officially, i wonder if she gets another eva for her, i hope so, that way i can display her with a new (hopefully release) RD eva.

I kind of interoperate it as things are getting real and everyone's in a state of confusion. Unit 02 is getting prepped to be sent back to Europe for reconditioning (hence the makeshift parts) and something big is hitting them before it ships out. And she's yelling at whoever to get it ready.

"No, god-dammit, I said get it ready for launch! I don't care what happens! JUST DO IT!"
