Who will Eva 08's pilot be?

I think that the dual-insertion pod theory is bogus, and that the pilot of Eva 08 will be solely Rei III, with Rei II still stuck in Eva 01 with Shinji. I base this on the same lack of evidence that most Rebuild 3.0 theories are based upon.

Or, there'll be a wildcard black person pilot. Perhaps.

Thoughts? What do you think?

How 'bout ALL of them? That's why the childrens have to be gathered together, Eva-08 was constructed to Magazord standards.

That makes way more sense than my theory. My mind has been blown. I haven't really thought about why they'd been gathered, besides maybe Kaworu telling them about Instrumentality. But how could they all fit in there?

Maybe Kaworu is the pilot, but Shinji, Rei and Asuka's souls are the souls of Eva 08?

This may explain the extra Rei(s) we see in the preview for 3.0 on the 2.22 disc.

Talking serious now, I think Eva 08 will be the Mass Production Evas equivalent.
At the 3.0 teaser trailer, 08 appears to be in a state of "energy's ecstasy" (that halo below it is the proof). And to me it's hard to think that some pilot is inside it on these circumstances.

I think it's pretty obvious that it will be Mari's. She's the only one without an Eva...
I think it's more interesting what happened to Eva 07... But that does not belong here.

Mari and Rei are the only two without Evas to pilot. And, I personally doubt Shinji and Rei are stuck inside Eva 01. They seemed perfectly fine at the end of 2, unless there's something to dispute this. I think it will be Mari, and Rei won't pilot anymore but take the role she took after her Eva was destroyed in 23 (along with Rei 2, but you get what I mean)

Though, speaking of 07, it could be 00 revived in the blue armor it's given in NGE. Just a thought.

The preview for Q straight-up says that Shinji and Rei are "still absorbed in the Eva".

Didn't it say stuck inside the Eva? I probably misinterpreted it then.
Edit: "Unit 01 is contained with Rei and Shinji still inside!" Says the preview. Dunno, I thought it meant they were both in the cockpit.

And revived from being eaten by Zeruel. I'd think that that would have killed the eva.

It's in the same sense of episode in 19. Shinji & Rei have been reduced to LCL inside the entry plug. Shinji seems to be content in that state though, I don't know for how much longer once the Rei/Yui connection starts popping up.

Ah. I'm stupid then, sorry. For some reason I didn't think they'd do that in Rebuild. Or that Kaworu was able to stop Eva 01 from absorbing them completely.

This would be cool, but it would be cooler to see the actual MP Evas return in 3 or 4.

In trailer we have the quickening of eva unit-08 and its pilot.
Maybe Toji returns or someone completely new.
