Starts with a "B" and ends with a "udget"

Postby Harmless » Fri Jan 27, 2006 12:40 am

the Budget, according to eva.trivialbeing.net is set at 120 million, thats above the current blockbuster standard (higher than any of the Matrix movies and any of the LoTR movies), and the site also claims that 100 million has already been secured, if this is true work could begin pretty soon.

of course money isnt everything, just throwing enough money at a movie wont make it good, im sure most of the people in these forums have made better movies for school assignments than "Gigli".

still, its interesting to know that so apparently so much effort and focus is being put into this, the site also makes special note to underscore the importance the companies involves thus far are making this. The site would suggest that the involved parties have a lot riding on this.

cool fact: for every 1 e-mail Weta-Digital recieves about LoTR, they recieve 25 for NGE. thats a hilarious fact that trivialbeing.net is also making, pretty cool when u think about it, it could be argued that NGE has 25x the societal importance (or a greater number of its fans arent families but generations of gamers and hardcore internet users). haha

o well, it was worth saying, sorry if someone already said it.

Well, it's a monster movie where everyone turns into goo in the end. Things like that cost money :p

That's pretty understandable, since LoTR has been out for some time now...

Oh, and anyone who states that NGE has more societal importance than LoTR is truly deluding themself.

i was just stating, cause i think in a section about the Live Action Movie any news would be appropriate. And i didnt say i believed any of those things, i went out of my way to continually say it was the site that was claiming it and i even gave the reason why they claim to recieve more e-mails, not because of greater importance somehow but because of a more web savvy fanbase.

I just thought that knowing the budget would be a useful piece of knowledge, there is a big difference between the "Bloodrayne" movie and "Matrix: Reloaded". I was interested as to where inbetween those the production was placed, and i got word that it is above that scale -which i found newsworthy.

o ya, and btw. eva.trivialbeing.net is also saying that the movie will focus on the beginning of the series, going at least as far as the giant rubiks cube with a drill. So if this is true than one wouldnt have to worry about much of the disturbing stuff since it starts around ep. 16 and 17. Again, this is the site claiming this.

ADV has since admitted that they've secured a little under half of what they need to produce the film.

Also, none of this is news.

Yeah, that's why I'm looking for a unique thought here. Again, we're hearing the same "LIVE ACTION EVANGELION MOVIE!" in a slightly louder voice. They keep saying over and over that they're making the movie, and haven't seemed to have gotten very far. I just wish they would hurry the hell up and get a damn director so that real speculation can begin.

who knows; it could already be well under the way and just not told the bloodthirsty fans. nobody ever said they had to publicise everything. or anything.

but it would appear that they are doing their best to hype this never ending quest to make LAE, thus it hasen't begun production - not to mention that someone would have noticed, there are official prodoction and principal photography dates - none of which we have seen

I will probably have graduated from university and been in the workforce for a couple of years before they ever bring this movie out.

Everything we ever heard about the live action flick is old news

Thank you wayneiac for agreeing. And I do have basis for not wanting it too as I have sat in at a panel at my local con where both Matt Greenfield and Tiffany Grant (Who knows next to nothing about Eva btw) were hyping it. (Basically they said the same things as EM posted in his news area about it except they really talked up Robin Williams being a fan so I am guessing they were trying to infer he might be part of the movie.) And when the question of how much they were going to change it came up the answer was very nondescript and led me to believe that ELAF was not going to be an homage to Eva but Matt Greenfield's version of Eva. And that is something that I am just not that interested in.

They should bribe the original artists and fire the current ones.

That way Asuka wouldn't look so weird. :?

Robin Williams should be the director, writer, and only star of the Evangelion movie. I would definitely pay to see that.

Gendo should be played by William Shatner. Nothing else could make the movie any better.

Except maybe him doing a spoken-word version of Cruel Angel's Thesis.
