Who's A Better Vessel?

Ok..so i was asking me the other day "Who is better holding their paper as angels or life AND first angels? Kaworu or Rei?" i mean..i know they just have part of their soul in them, but...who is better? either as angel, as human, and as a Soul Vessel.

I don't know if this is boring..or confusing...but you know, it's Evangelion, the whole name explains "Mind F*ck" :b

I don't understand the question. Are they competing? They both seem to do well enough, so I'm not sure the question of who's "better" is relevant (or even meaningful).

Kaworu is very much aware and open to the implications of his origins; Rei is at odds with herself because of it. I'm not surprised that Rei does as poorly as she does in synchronizing.

This seems like the most reasonable answer in the thread anyway. Though we only get to see Kaworu for one episode, he seems totally content with himself, whereas Rei often appears uncomfortable and unsure with her identity.

FWIW, Kaworu isn't completely sure about his identity and purpose in life in NGE2, though the basic setting is different in that game, apparently Kaworu decided to give up on fulfilling his mission as Angel, something which was never mentioned as possible in NGE and it's explicitly said to be impossible in the manga, because of Seele.

Rei's probably not really trying. As long as her sync ratio is high enough to work it's as far as she'll go.

My thoughts are with Sachi's. It's really hard to compare the two when Kaworu's more knowledgeable and comfortable with himself than Rei is with herself. Rei I and Kaworu both needed more screentime for us to really understand them better.
