Good PS3 Games
Got a lot of overtime this month and I've been looking at the PS3 as something to spend it on. But as I really don't want to have a $300 paper weight I'd like to order a few games with it. I'd really like some suggestions I know I'm getting Mortal Kombat and Uncharted but I'd really like to add a good RPG in. So to cut out my overworked minds rambling
Any suggestion for PS3 Games?

Definitely getting Valkira and Uncharted. I've had Ico and Shadow for years on the PS2 There right next to "Skies of Arcadia" and "Legend of Dragoon" as my favorite games of all time.

Like any other media, it's kind of hard to recommend games without knowing what types of games you like.

I would recommend Heavy Rain if you haven't played it yet. Definitely a great story. I just picked up Ico/SOTC Collection, but since you've played those on PS2 already.....I would also suggest: Uncharted 1 & 2, Dark Souls (if you have patience), Mass Effect 2, God of War 3. The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim comes out in November :)

Whelp can't get the PS3 this month due to haveing to replace about half my desktops parts, but it's looking like I'll be getting about as overtime this month so I'll be getting in around the first of November. Right now it's looking like I'll be grabing
a PS3(Ofcourse)
Resitance 1 and 2
Valkira Chronicles
Demon's Souls
Final Fantasy XIII (Which I'd have eventully picked up anyway just to keep my collection going)
inFamous
Soul Caliber
Mortal Kombat
And RE5 (Already have it for pc but I can't stand the control scheme with a mouse)
Pretty good start to a game collection

Play Ninja Gaiden Sigma. It'll make a man out of you.

I find it insulting that the best FromSoftware series wasn't mentioned.

Re: Good PS3 Games
What about Assassin's Creed IV or Infamous 1 & 2? Those were awesome games too, although it appears they came out after this thread was forgotten.
Still, where is the love?

Voted in college to be Most likely to Take Over the World, how to do that however, will require at least Four Evangelions. Thanks for the idea Misato-san!

Re: Good PS3 Games
Infamous was quite good, but I never finished 2... got a bit boring for me.
I feel we can add "Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning" to the list. It's the only game I ever pre-ordered, and is an interesting open-world RPG from Big Huge Games (for those who remember, the creators of the fantastic "Rise of Nations" RTS series for PC, way back when). Highly recommended.
In addition, I haven't played it yet, but I hear WONDERFUL things about Persona 5. If it's half as good as 3 (or as good as 4 ), it deserves a spot as well.

Re: Good PS3 Games
Spec Ops: The Line is really a good one, despite its gameplay mechanics and multiplayer. But in all honesty who cares when you got one of gaming's best stories here in the single-player campaign, for it will either amaze you or leave you disturbed. Now I'm not going to spoil anything from the story, but this picture here will give you of what you've might come across in the game.
SPOILER: Show

Re: Good PS3 Games
Persona 5 is every bit as good on the PS3 as it is on the PS4. No downgraded graphics, no wonky framerate. If you can't afford the PS4 then this is a perfect way to the Persona 5 experience without having to break the bank.

Oh yeah, I forgot, that Persona 5 was also on PS3. Good to hear it runs smooth on both hardwares, though. I wonder, if a Switch version was feasible.

Re: Good PS3 Games
Speaking of Atlus: This may or may not count, but many of their PS2 Shin Megami Tensei games are available for the PS3 on the PS Store, such as Nocture, Persona 3/4 (I think 1 and Eternal Punishment are as well, but not sure), Digital Devil Saga 1/2, and Devil Summoner 1/2. For those who're interested.
