Animator Apologizes After Posting Adult Naruto Animation

Basically an animator posted a seven second animation of Naruto doing some 'husband and wife activities as practice online. And got a TON of backlash.
Chengxi Huang is living the dream: the skilled animator, who hails from China, is living and working in Tokyo, where he works on the Naruto franchise, of which he’s a self-proclaimed giant fan.

That’s why we’re sure the animator had nothing but good intentions when he posted a short clip to Twitter of lead characters Naruto and Hinata embracing to kick off the new year. Naruto fans were not having it, though, leading to enough complaints for Huang to remove the clip and post an apology.

The clip (which we’d give a PG-13 rating) shows Naruto and Hinata waking up after sleeping in late, according to the animator. The clip, to the chagrin of some fans, features Naruto touching Hinata’s breast, leading to comments calling the animation “gross” and “filthy.”

Huang’s apology stated that the animation was simply practice, and that he wanted to portray the everyday life of a married couple, but that he was deleting the video because it was causing trouble for his company and related parties.

Really? REALLY?

1. As far as sex between anime and Manga characters go. This was pretty friggin' tame. I mean, it's clearly consensual, both parties are clearly in love, and it's pretty sweet and tender and genuine. Are people really getting their knickers in a twist over this?

2. This is Japan. The inventors of the term 'tentacle porn' and 'loli complex' how is a country that gets away with tolerating so much controversial sexual content. How is a animation this tame causing this kind of controversy. Given it's clearly consensual between both parties?

I saw the video, there's nothing wrong about it.

It's very cute, it's probably just a bunch of "THINK OF THE CHILDREN" mixed with angry Sakura-Naruto shippers.

While Yuri Kuma Arashi was far from bad, it suffered from what I can only call inexperience from the staff. Studio Wit should be able to bring Ikuhara's vision to life. Super excited.

First a new Ikuhara anime and now more Boogiepop!? I can hardly believe it!

Now would be a good time for that Desespera anime...

Yeah, last year Anime was borderline atrocious. Glad to see that now there's enough money industry to finally reach good creators. I couldn't stand the aesthetics of original Boogiepop, this reboot's aesthetic is much more up my alley. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

There have been a number of new announcements linked on /a/ over the weekend -- there must have been some industry expo going on. I've just copied the ones that have familiar names. Adding to which, new Psycho Pass project for next year -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ONsIal0E5sI

Of course familiar names are no guide to what's going to be the best viewing in a season -- I would never have bothered to link announcements for a mobage tie in or another "cute girls do things" manga adaptation.

Funnily enough, money was the downfall of one of last year's best titles -- Kadokawa shot themselves in the foot so badly trying to milk a cash cow when they saw how popular Kemono Friends was, and that series was made with a budget of the loose change found down someone's sofa.

Man, finally seeing that happen would make me so happy.
Last I heard, Despera was scheduled for the season after The Dreaming Machine is released.

Hopefully the films aren't as traumatizing to watch as Season 2...

There's also that new origianl show from Watanabe, Carol and Tuesday for April 2019. It's being done by the great Studio BONES. Should be fun.
And there's the Kabaneri sequel film. A lot o crap goin on with animay nowadays.

I should go to Japan and see if they let me direct this one; I've seen Serial Experiments Lain 2.5 times, and the second time I watched it I almost understood what was going on.
I used to work in a factory and I was really happy because I could daydream all day -- I.C.
And thanks to EVA, I've started like myself and that has made me very happy. Mr. Anno, please keep working on EVA a lot more.
and thank you so much for everything!!

Isn't it ironic?

Oh man, I really hope they get the original team back. But from what I've read, season two was an afterthought to an already finished script for the movies. So as the movie logically connected to the first season tightly, they didn't have much wiggle room to go anywhere thematically (or with the characters). I mean, yeah... They still could have done better, the cinematography is a huge step down, the characters don't make any sense and the script was written by someone who seemingly didn't understand the show at all.

Looking at the teaser for these 3 movies, they seem to forcefully use beloved characters that have no business being there at first place. Possibly because they were well received by the audience. Screams CASH GRAB SCAM to me.

Yeah, as long as the guy who wrote the script for Zankyou no Terror isn't involved this should be fun. Watanabe just knows how to direct with tight effect.

Considering how well they managed to pull of a high-quality trash show, while being bound to the time constraints of a TV show, the relatively bigger time frame afforded by being a movie production makes my pee pee go hard. Also it looks like this movie is just going to be one big battle, playing into the strengths of the creator and the franchise as a whole.

Oh man, sadly enough, that's more than sufficient to exploit any given franchise.

Well if Production I.G. is doing them they did indeed make three Eden of the East films(what the hell was going on in the third one?) and one Blood-C film.

Kinda seems like that's the case, huh? I'll still check it out, probably just won't expect too much.

So I just finished reading the Ga-Rei manga and I'm going to post something about it at a later date, but a Wikipedia reference led me to this.

That is absolute screaming madness. I mean, I guess you could techincally pull off a dinky live-action version of Ga-Rei Zero with a TV superhero budget, but that's just the first arc of a four-arc story, and the article specifically mentions the manga, which is like really high-octane anime crazy with shikigami constructs, Akira-levels of city destruction, and cute mascot animals. You might as well do Hellsing Ultimate.

So there's probably no fear of this ever happening, but the fact that someone's even considering it is just unbelievable.

Isao Takahata has just died according to Yahoo Japan. Anime has lost one of the pioneers of the medium, RIP.

Side note: if you haven't seen Horus: Prince of the Sun, you should check that out.
I mean, predictability is the central attraction and the narrative hook that we've all come to expect from the Evangelion franchise. How come Anno can't realize this? Twice? - FreakyFilmFan4ever
