Since this isn't related to Studio Khara's Twitter, here, new thread. Nyao~

The official Evangelion website updated with the Newtype image of Asuka holding the Mark.06 Spear.

The links are just to the 1.0 and 2.0 Eva websites... For the longest time, the Eva website was the 2.0 website with an archive/link of the 1.0 website. But maybe this front page design update means we'll soon be getting some form of 3.0 news? I guess this means Anno wasn't lying with his "Please be patient" note in June 2011 Newtype Japan, then!

The fact that it's same Asuka we saw on the cover of Newtype probably means that something will appear soon (maybe the within the next month?). But the picture is also saying that their not totally ready to reveal 3.0 news yet. Maybe their trying to ease us into it somehow? We're definitely on the edge of some kind of news though...

HOLY SHIT!
This might juuuuust be the very first, subtle signs of a beginning promotional campaign, or at least it... reassures one that the ppl at Khara are at least doing something, you know?

Judging by the color scheme so far, 3.33 will get a yellow button and 4.44 a blue one cuz contrast. Think of the sea.

Also, I SO want the Newtype interview translated now...

Not that I deliberately set out to argue EVERY LITTLE THING you say, but uh... Both those other buttons are red. I don't see blue being an option, they're not going for a full rainbow. Maybe green though.

Anyway, now I'm going to continue being a stereotype for myself by saying that I hate that plugsuit. Seriously, why is it asymmetrical? She wasn't even wearing it during the Bardiel incident!

The Eva 2.22 DVD/BD case and 2.0 website color scheme is orange while the 1.11 DVD/BD case and website color scheme is red.

As such, most likely 3.33 DVD/BD is going to be yellow and 4.44 DVD/BD is going to be green, assuming the "rainbow" color scheme is followed through to the end.

Because asymetrical is cool. Feel free to disagree.

@Buttons: It's silly to start a discussion about that but... The 1X one is deep red, the 2.X one is orange (lighter color). So it's not too far off to assume that the next one will have an even lighter color (yellow).
But they'll probably go for something to break the theme for the last part - i.e., blue, mirroring the red/orange-ish sea and how one may expect that it might be blue by the time the movie series ends - just like the old one ended with blue waves and ended with red ones.

But of course, the most likely option is that they'll have revamped the whole design untill then and gotten rid of these buttons alltogether XD
Who cares, I mean... buttons! But we've gotta pass the time somehow.

@anyone who can read japanese: Does any sort of "news page" say anything interesting?

EDIT@SSD: GASP How could I not get that it's meant to be a Rainbow? *stares in awe* i mean, rainbows are all over Rebuild... You're right, green makes more sense, it would still fulfill the role of "breaking" with the other (mostly warm-ish) colors.

If you follow the first link under the 2.0 header, you'll arrive at a newspost page. The most recent post seems to be related to an art book for the new movies; I'm using Rikiachan for Firefox so I can't make out much of it.

Was there ever one?

It IS a bit weird that "Evangelion [dot] etc" basically directs you to one specific addition to the frachise and not to some sort of, uh, main page.

It used to be a main page of sorts before the whole New Movie Edition thing started, now it's used as the official website for the movies. (I forget what exactly it had content-wise before NME was out, but I know something was there.)

It's more of the fact the official website has finally changed to something which references Q, whereas it was the same since early 2010 and still had the "2.22 coming out in May" banner still there.
