Thoughts of Shinji after Kaworu death

What did you think of Shinji after he killed Kaworu?

-I know that I felt sad at first because of the 3 min suspence sequence before he killed him. Then I hated him for killing Kaworu. Since as you all know I love Kaworu :lol:

Lemme guess, this would be a thread inspired by a Evafreak/Shnooks arguement..?

The only time I ever considdered Shinji a hero in the whole series is when i saw that head drop.

I though that it was screwed up that this kid tolded Shinji " I love you " then said " Kill me or I'll distry humanity "

To this day I think its the most fucked up scene in the series. EoE was worse, but that was just betrayal, and I have a low tolerance for that.

Since I had more or less figured out Kaworu was an angel the moment he first turned around, his death really didn't come as that much of a shock. The Beethoven soundtrack was obviously portending gloom and doom as well. I didn't expect that Shinji was going to linger so long on his decision, given that he was livid only moments before. But then again, no one saw that one coming.

I don't understand you Kaworu fangirls.
He was in half an episode. He died.

Kaji was in half the series. Why doesn't anyone like Kaji? D;

...anyway, when I first saw that episode, I was upset 'cause I was going through a yaoi phase and liked Shinji/Kaworu.
But now when I see it, I giggle at Kaworu's head going 'pop!'. Kaworu's a cute character and all, but that scene just...amuses me now. o__o;;

Ok, so if you were in shinjis shoes at the moment before he popped his head, what would you have done? Kill him? Let him go? Or just stand there in awkward silence for awhile? Remember what happens if you let him go!

Kaworuâ€™s death is far and away the best moment in Eva. It lost its impact a little when he comes back in EoE thoughâ€¦

As for what I thought of Shinjiâ€¦well, it was what I always think: â€˜It sucks to be himâ€™.

Why are we assuming that Kaworu knew that he was going to find himself in a situation of telling Shinji that he now needed to kill him? And why assume Kaworu has more agency than he does? Just because he freed himself momentarily to tell Shinji what he did does not mean that he could simply have stopped searching for Adam and attempting to bring about 3I. We simply don't know the whole story.

Yeah, Kaworu sort of had a moment of revelation there before telling Shinji to kill him, in case anyone forgot.. o_O

"I get it now! The Lillim! Lillith!" something along those lines. Even though Kaworu was very calm in telling Shinji to kill him, I've always assumed that Kaworu had intended to bring about 3I. He was, after all, Kiel's little puppet, just like Rei was Gendo's...

That would all depend on if a certain scene from the DC's was a screw up or not. If they were just an oversight then I'd agree with you.

If those scenes are to be taken at face value then angel boy knew Gendo had the embronic adam implanted in him, ergo that big white thing on the cross just had to be somthing else hu?

Now to answer a certian question a bit better.

Actuly I have no real problem with Kaji. We just don't talk about him much around her. Probly because unlike the manga we don't seem much of his background or innerworkings on his mind.

We only like the general mindfuckery and angst in characters on this board I think.

Well Kaji is just a guy really, he's really only in the show for Misato's sake. he wouldn't be there a whole bunch if they hadnt had a history
