I can't believe this hasn't occured to me yet. Giger has to do production design for Evangelion. He would be absolutely perfect for the job.

I have never been more certain about anything in my life. Giger would make Live Action Evangelion look like a BILLION DOLLARS.

Story could suck ass for all I care. Higer working on Evangelion would rock my socks.

His work on the Dune film was good, even if the rest was terrible.

But he'd have to be kept on a short leash. There's already more than enough sexual subtexts to Eva  .

LoL
He can bring life to that portion of the After EVA Drama track on the OST, Addition;
The part where they were talking about sex appeal.

Oh yeah. There's an AVI-ed v. of it with translations.

I understand that all of his work didn't make into the film. Are you referring to that?

Yes, indeed.

I love Giger.

I doubt he'd work on another movie, though. Too many bad experiances. Artists & businessmen have never really gotten along.

I would like to see his take on the angels, though...
2:34 And behold, We said to the angels: "Bow down to Adam" and they bowed down. Not so Iblis: he refused and was haughty: He was of those who reject Faith.

Giant robots with angels trapped inside of them,
Teenaged pilots & an evil organization,
Doing battle with giant monsters from beyond,
Mankind's last hope lies in the Evangelions
.

why are there are load of ballls on the right of that first link!? that's just.....bizzare.

looks cool though.

and i'd also love to see his take on the angels-- that pic looks very gothic, which all of my favourite angel fan art is.

…Yeah ok. But if an angel burst out of one of the Eva’s chests, I’m walking.

I was referring to the fact that apart from the architetchure (Which was entirely Gigers work, IIRC) the entire film sucked big fat donkey balls.

I wouldn't.
Personally, I think he should stick to his Aliens.
If he ever tried to interpret his vision of one of the Angels, he'd kill it with some other aliens that go around killing the next new Tokyo.

I don't see how it could possibly turn out any worse than what Weta imagined a couple of years ago. If anything, Giger's name would be a valid-enough excuse for however objectionable the final product might be to fans and/or the general public.

WETA's concept art was superb.
Except of Sohryuu and Aynami.

Think about it, what could they posabilly do with the concept art for a human? Plastic surgerize a person to look like the art? It's already been discused, but the those people in the art are there soley for a model for the clothing.

Yeah I know.
They could at least make an exact replica of the plug-suits though, with good material.

Of course the people in a Live Action movie wouldn't look like the actual Anime characters.
They original Live Action script that was partially remade in the beginning of Rebirth [Air] had Sohryuu, Misato, and Ayanami, and they looked like normal street walkers.

H.R Giger should be part of a team of cinematic superheroes to design and create the world of Evangelion. Just imagine! H.R. Giger could design the Angels and Evangelions! And I just watched Blade Runner and seriously think that Evangelion should be done just like Blade Runner, so of course Ridley Scott should direct. As much as I liked Gladiator and Kingdom of Heaven, the man needs to go back to sci-fi. And Neil Gaiman could write the screenplay! And of course Richard Taylor and his crack team of Weta guys will be bringing the special effects to life! It would seriously be the best science fiction film since The Empire Strikes Back!

Of course, the film I just mentioned will never actually happen, what with the LA Evangelion project being kind of dead and all.

WETA should make the environment.
Have you seen their concept art on Japan?
Especially NERV HQ.
It's amazing...
