Car Thread

Yeah. You read right. This is for everything that doesn't have anything to do with Eva.

Anyone here a tuner enthusiast, or like cars as a gearhead in general?

Yes. I am an Audi freak (I own a 1999 A4 - heavily modified). I dig Asuka too. Maybe there is something about Germans I can't get enough of.

My other hobby...

When I am not working, spending time with family, or indulging in anime related activities, then I am usually working on my car or friends' cars.

Well for my car...

When I first got it, it was a 1.8T with a stock K03 (aka cute little hair dryer) with 150 BHP.

After modding engine-wise...

I popped in a PES T-28 kit (intake, exahust mani, 440cc injectors, chip programming). I also added a hi-flow cat and Milltek exhaust.

On 93 octane it puts out 280 BHP (221 WHP). The torque is about 220 ft/lbs. (1.3 bar programming)

On 100 octane it puts out 335 BHP (262 WHP). (1.5 bar programming). I forget the torque. I have the dyno chart somewhere...

As for my friend's...S4 Stage 3 (bi-turbo with K04-K24 turbos) conversion...it's still being tuned (lemmiwinks) and it's about 450 BHP without tune. He might get 500 BHP once it's all said and done (within the month).

It goes on the dyno early November. I can't wait to see the numbers he puts up. My car theoretically puts up mid 13s on the 1/4 mile but I can't launch for squat so I always fall shy of 13s.

My buddy's car is theoretically low 12s. Not bad for a sports sedan.

Whoa.
That packs a punch.

I'm not used to reading on Euro-tuning.
I'm more into the Japanese imports but, any tuner is good as well.

I've got plenty of buddies with STis and Evos too. Most of them go back and forth between Euro and Japanese cars.

Hell yeah. Just look at my screen name. I can rattle off performance data like nothing. Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Saleens, that new Bugatti... it's all good. If it's European, exotic and expensive (the three E's), I'm all over it like Naruto on ramen. 8)
