Join me for Ohayocon, January 28-30 in Columbus, Ohio.

http://www.ohayocon.org/

I will be hosting the following panels:

There might also be a small meetup, so Private Message me if you plan to attend the convention.

Sucks for me, i'm moving again around that date. Too bad, catch you at the next otacon.
(just realized something a few days ago, if you out otacon into a spell check, one of the options is bacon. yum?)

So that explains why I got that in spell check. Let me run otakon real quick then...........
I got overtaken and rotation. Not as fun as otacon.
Still, I wish you the best of luck in Ohio, and sincerely regret not being able to attend. Have fun though, keep us posted on how you were received.
BTW, this V character I have been hearing about, what are the chances he will come down there and try to screw things up? Better tell security.

Thanks, it's going to be a bit of a spanking. I've never been solely responsible for four panels at one con before. But once I have them done, I can easily reuse them later, so subsequent cons should be a snap.

I have plans for Katsucon, Tekkoshocon, Anime Boston, and ACEN, but those have not yet solidified. Panels at Tekkoshocon and Otakon are a given, being that I am on staff there. Panels at Anime Boston and ACEN are also pretty good bets. ACEN will probably be me and Carl Horn. That should be fun.

An otacon is someone with an otaku complex?

So, um, are these two going to be the yin and yang of Evangelion panels? One serious, one not?

There's a chance that he, or one of his "men" will protest one of my panels, by standing and refuting something I say. This has already happened at least once, to Charles Dunbar of Study of Anime. He does a religion in Evangelion panel where he talks about where the religious substance comes from. It's 90% objective, 10% subjective. I've seen him deliver it, it's a good panel.

I'm not too worried about most of the cons I'm going to, as they are, according to him, "occupied territory" and are not worth the effort. I'm more concerned about the panels I will be having at Anime Boston and Tekkoshocon. He has already said that Tekko will be "the battlefield", and that their plans are to get me on a stage to "humiliate" me thoroughly. I passed that along to Tekko, which makes the odds of them doing a panel there at any point in the future extremely doubtful.

More or less. One is about the show in terms of a franchise, the other is a bunch of weird/fun stuff. Both will be generally lighthearted, and both will be informative, but one is generally informative, and one is generally fun, so they should complement each other nicely.

Regarding conventions: I'd love to do a little meetup at some NYC con, since I doubt Otakon would work out for me. (Too bad I can't go to Fanime currently. ;_; Maybe again someday...)

That would be a possibility, however, my survey of NY cons is that with the exception of NYAF (which sucked major ass this year, apparently), all of the NY cons are small or are really close to the cons I'm planning to hit this year. If I'm not mistaken, SSD, you are closer to Boston than NYC, maybe Anime Boston would be good?

NYC is closer to me, not sure where you're thinking of. :sweatdrop:

I guess something like Anime Boston could MAYBE work out but it would really depend on various factors like when and cost and such. Dunno.

Well monkey-kun, providing my health improves I would like to tag along with you to one of these conventions, that way I can observe.
I'll compensate by being you PA for free.

So, is anyone else going to Ohayocon? I'll make sure to stop by those panels, provided that they aren't at an inopportune time.

I was actually looking at the little argument between Scythe and you on the Tekko forums. Not surprising he had ulterior motives behind publicly criticizing you like that, and unfortunately others actually thought he was giving an honest critique. Then I went and saw what his leader "V" had to say on his forums, something about "it's impossible to get panels in cons on a national level like Ohayocon." ??? I have no idea what he's talking about, I mean, even I got a panel at Ohayocon.

As long as conventions exist, there's going to be people who purposely interrupt panels to get much-needed attention, hopefully it won't happen to you.

I think we should knock "V" down a peg or two..... thousand!
Him and his little minions need to know they are just a pitiful waste of existence. People like that who like to play those things out on a public stage and not even face to face are pitiful.
I'm going to make a thread about this.

And your thread got locked and junked. Acting like V does makes you look like as much of an ass as him.

Move on. Ignore him. The more you try paying attention to him, the more you're wasting time.

Exactly -- attention is what he's after; ostracism is the only way to deal with that sort of behaviour.
