Anybody remember the Summer Session Roleplay? I was thinking that a Winter-themed Role Play would be nice, although because it's hard to coordinate on the forums, perhaps IRC would be best.

(Thanks to Eric and Legendary for their discussions about this in the summer.)

Role Playing Time Frame: December 26th 2010 to January 26th 2011.

Continuity: In between DC23' (Rei 2/Eva-00's death) and rest of the series (DC24', EoTV/EoE).

Slight--or major, depending on what it is--tweaks on outcomes of various Descent Arc/Bitter End events (Toji's Bardiel accident, Kaji's death, Asuka's mindrape, Misato's coming onto Shinji, Ritsuko's breakdown) are welcome. For example: if Toji should have gotten off the accident lightly and still became a pilot, or Kaji survived Seele's shooting... That could be arranged. >=3 The series events themselves should still have happened in some shape or form: Rei 2 and Eva-00 are both still lost, same with the Dummy System being destroyed during Ritsuko's Big Reveal to Misato and Shinji.

Plot: Because of how tense things have been for everybody lately, Misato decides to send the pilots away for a 2 week training session in Berlin, Nerv-03. This is where Magi-03 is. Side Note: the location of Nerv-03 isn't given in-series. But, the Next Time Preview for Episode 8 states that Asuka and Kaji came with Eva-02 from Wilhelmshaven, Germany.

Shinji's classmates are more than welcome to tag along to Germany if they want, provided the students take the Germany trip as a vacation while the pilots are there officially for Nerv-matters.

Except for Mari who's a spy, those extra-canon characters were in Class 2A from the start, although the Eva pilots don't know them very well.

In universe RP time-frame: Late December 2015, specified when needed. According to a fanon NGE calender by Legendary, December 28th is when Kaworu arrives and he attacks on the 29th. (December 31st 2015 through January 1st 2016 is, of course, Third Impact.)

Characters: For now, pick one and only character. If nobody responds to a character of your choice after a few days, then you may select a second one.

IRC-RP: [ ] = Brackets for thoughts, regular text for dialogue--no quotes!, ( ) = Parenthesis used for questions/comments. Try to keep to a minimum unless you're really stuck.

Fixed a few things regarding the initial post. Apparently Toji (and Asuka) are up for grabs as Legendary wouldn't be able to join after all.

People can play Kaworu however they want to, but him NOT revealing he's an Angel would make things more enjoyable: It's alright if Kaworu interacts with Shinji ala episode 24, provided there isn't an explicit reveal of him being an Angel and/or him dying. Obviously it's alright if he has thoughts or internal conflict about his own goals versus Seele etc. If whoever's playing him REALLY wants there to be a Big Reveal, it'd be best to save that towards the end of the RP.

Also, do people feel that "additional background" of the Summer RP should just be dropped for this winter RP?

Wait, why is Seele's claim on Asuka only listed as tentative? o_O If one of them has to be, I'd think it should be Maya, since he listed her as his secondary choice.

Also, I guess things can go either way on the summer backstory stuff. We could probably just leave it out; I'm not sure if it'd really be needed or relevant.

And since general consensus seems to be to have this on IRC (and not bother with that summer vacation backstory), we'll do that then.

Regarding this:

Where do folks think Nerv-03 should be? Magi-03 is in Berlin and Magi-06 is in Hamburg, maybe having the 2 "03"s together would make things easier.

Unless I just really suck at reading maps, Hamburg appears to be closer to Wilhelmshaven, but perhaps Berlin as Nerv-03 would make more sense because it's the capital?

Hmmmm...Kaji. He'll be more fun to write for.

As for your question...well, which one will fit your basic idea for the story? Go with that and we'll pick up from there.

C.A.P.: There might be somebody interested in Kaji (not sure yet, I'm waiting to see if he replies to this thread since it's the holidays and all), but would you be interested in having Gendo as your first character? He tends to get the shaft in Roleplays.

If you'd prefer to just wait and see who replies, that's fine. But if you really want Kaji, that's fine too.

Also: I guess I'll just have Nerv-03 be where Magi-03 is--in Berlin--since it's easier to remember that way. (Keep it simple, right?)

On second thought, since my winter break ends around January 10th, and the rp goes on until the 26th, I might be better off with a secondary character who can be killed off without affecting the overarching plot.
