Re: Stuff that you would like to see in 3+1

There are two: Wunder's initial battle with the Unit 04 drones, and the breaking of the seal over Central Dogma. Both include incredibly obvious CGI, so much so that I continue to wonder if it was intentional.

Re: Amanda Winn-Lee and Her Apathy toward Eva

All you can do at this point is learn from the experience and move on, so it's best not to dwell on it. Hopefully the public nature of said interaction means others will learn the same lesson without having to suffer the consequences firsthand.

Re: Superhero Films & TV

That'd work. I like Luthor more as the real challenge for Superman, the face of a corrupt system that he can't just super-feat away. Ironically, most of Batman's plot in BvS would work great as a Luthor plot, since Batman's motivations re: Superman in BvS are exactly identical to those of Luthor ov...

Re: Superhero Films & TV

I don't think Luthor can carry a movie on his own (unless you want him being the deuteragonist in MoS or something).

Re: Superhero Films & TV

Right. So we'd have MoS which is just about Superman becoming Superman, MoS 2 which would be Zod, a separate Batman movie establishing him as cynical but not a casual murderer, and then the Doomsday plot which is triggered by someone other than Luthor and brings in Diana. Then we have a proper setup...

Re: Superhero Films & TV

If they had made the Doomsday sequence a separate movie that would have been mindblowingly awesome. Give it a setup that makes sense, let Doomsday rampage around for a bit . . . yeah, that would have been pretty cool.

Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now

And for something completely different -- as an advertisement of Japan's various zoos, with all its cute and happy animal girls, Kemono Friends was not the sort of place that one might have thought to find another sample of the cosy catastrophe genre. I think it worked well, on account of being so ...

Re: Superhero Films & TV

Absolutely no idea what gave you that notion, they seem to be handling the WW1 aspect completely realistically, especially compared to the cheap armor & laser gun using Nazis of Cap TFA (which I liked mind you, but I appreciate the authentic feel this has more so) Did you watch that video? If y...

Pretty Positive Review... http://www.cbr.com/alien-covenant-review/ Fassbender's 2 androids seems to be the Focus, more then Waterson (thnkfully) "Positive" in the sense of "not entirely negative", I guess. Personally, I'm getting tired of Michael Fassbender. I actually liked hi...

^Chuckman, Freaky. Please stop implying that trying to make a superhero story more nuanced than just 'good guy punching out bad guy' is a fruitless endeavor. Will you please stop being so damn patronizing about this? Multiple people have explained to you multiple times WITH EXAMPLES that the issue ...

Re: [LAEM] Would an american Evangelion live-action movie have ever worked if it had been done right?

There are a number of types with the yellow crests in the Crested Penguins. I've always thought of Pen-Pen as a Rockhopper - though actually they're smaller, I think. Their crests curve down, though (though in the case of rockhoppers there's admittedly a lot of individual variation). Macaronis and ...

Re: [LAEM] Would an american Evangelion live-action movie have ever worked if it had been done right?

The mention on Wikipedia is inaccurate, so I took the liberty of removing it. PenPen belongs to a fictional species, not a real one. Also, if we're comparing him to real penguins, how is the erect-crested a better match than any other member of Eudyptes ? Because most don't have similar crests. The...

Yeah, it's all recycled, except for all the stuff that isn't.

That's a lot of stuff, btw.

http://batman-news.com/2017/05/05/wonder-woman-protects-steve-trevor-in-first-clip-from-the-movie/ New clip from Wonder Woman released online. Thoughts? Is there anyone here who can actually be optimistic about a DC movie for once? Ray, I've been optimistic about WW since day one. Check the thread,...

Re: Illegal torrent trackers tumbling down (tumbling down)

I'm not sure what to make of this, though. Huh. Western funding keeping the anime industry alive? Interesting. I wonder if we'll get a reverse of the Hollywood/China situation, where anime studios start to pander to Western audiences in hopes of securing their loyalty when it comes to BD sales? Tha...

The partial nature of Kyoko's soul is addressed in the fic, yes. Her appearance starts here and develops in later chapters.

Re: [Film] The Trailers & Upcoming Films Thread

If this movie was supposed to be a direct adaptation of the books I would be upset/wary because it's nothing like them. But, the interesting thing is this film & the series it could inspire if it's a hit is meant to be - a sequel to the novels. It's said to work perfectly fine as a standalo...

Re: From Your Lips to the Author's Ears: Story Ideas

Mind, this is coming from someone who is of the opinion that if something is supposed to be powerful, show how powerful it is, don't just allude to it. That's reasonable, but it usually works better if you use such demonstrations sparingly and time them for maximum, um, impact. Think about ...
